I was thinking about getting one of the SG sketch books. When I looked them up on Amazon, I thought there were only 2 books, but it looks like there are 5 or 6 of them!
I was wondering which one of them is the best one to get. I do a lot of two page LOs, and my one page LOs often have more than one photo.
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thank you!

I have them all. Couldn't pick a favorite to be honest.

I think I have eight or nine of them. They are great for getting something started. Most of them are two pagers.

I have 4-8 and also the travel one. The earlier books, IMO, are a little simple. Starting about book 6 they really get into stride. I've kept little notes on the sketches to identify which layouts I've already used, some of them I love so much I've used them many, many times. I am mostly a 2-page scrapper with a ton of photos per layout. These books have really helped me get the look I want in showcasing the pretty paper, but not overshadow all the photos.

Thanks for your interest. We actually have 16 layout sketch books, 13 for two-page layouts and three for one-page layouts at scrapbookgeneration.com.
I agree with the statement about the early volumes of Sketches For Scrapbooking (there are 8 of those). We started making the books 10 years ago, and our styles have changed as the world of scrapbooking has changed.
The newest book is The Whole Picture. It features uncropped 4x6 and 6x4 photos exclusively. It has been our most popular book to date and includes color layout examples. Other newer books are Sketches For Christmas, One on One, Sketch Fusion (featuring Simple Stories paper formats), and Sketch Magic, a Disney-themed book also showcasing Simple Stories products. All have color layout examples.
The travel sketch book is also one of the most popular -- idea for it is lots of photos, plenty of room for journaling. However, this book is sketches only, no color examples.
If you have other questions I would be happy to answer them. (All the books are available as e-books AND spiral-bound books.)

Sounds like starting with The Whole Picture is the way to go since it's the latest one and you can see how much you would use the others.

My favorites are the ones that use Simple Stories papers, since I LOVE cut apart sheets and almost always buy one when I get paper from a collection. I use Sketch Magic ideas with other papers and think it's really versatile.
Whole Picture is great too. I also really like the Christmas one.

So pretty much you guys are telling me to get all of them, right? Seriously, thanks so much for your input! I will take another look at them and decide, but I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up with more than one!

I can vouch for The Whole Picture, it's one of my favorites.
And I do a lot of shopping with SG and love the personal service they offer. I get the monthly Super Sketch club kits and really like them a lot.

I get their kits too and I loooooove being able to just throw a few things in my cart and have them shipped with my kits! Karin will often see my name come through on an order while they're packing the kits and make sure it goes out with mine then so that I don't have to wait for it for the next shipment. And then she writes me a note to tell me Love that!

Love the SG sketch books and have several. The Whole Picture put me over the top into needing to buy a bigger binder because I've "outgrown" my 2". Im a frequent user of sketches to scrapbook and like theirs best.
I used to purchase the physical book then disassemble and put in a binder by # of photos. I love that we can now purchase the download and print ourselves. And I have ALWAYS had great customer service, whether purchasing sketch books or with the kit club. SG is top notch!

And we always appreciate the mentions of scrapbookgeneration.com. There are so many places to shop, and we always are so thankful when people choose us!

@rush2scrap Are there any of the sketch books that have more layouts with 5x7 photos (I have the travel one)? I like to use one bigger photo along with primarily 4x6 standard photos and I've had a hard time finding good sketches using larger photos. Thanks!

@rush2scrap - which book would you reccommend for an 8.5x11 scrapper? I don't mind adapting from a 12x12 sketch but some are easier to do that with than others.

The Whole Picture 4x6 book would be great for me, I tend to compose my photos as I take them, little room to crop.

I bought 1-6 originally in hard copy form but was very excited when they released them in digital. Living in Australia meant high postage. I also went through them and have separated the sketches by how many photos they use. I then rebound them with plastic covers so now I can just go to the 6 photo book when I have 6 photos to scrap. I too have used some of the sketches multiple times. I think one in particular I have used about 8 times! Considering the uses- Halloween, family, pet, school, Hawaii, Fiji, food and my childhood no one would ever notice! This thread has just reminded me that I have not used the latest one so I think I shall get it out on this lazy Saturday afternoon and have a look through it. I only wished I lived closer, I get their emails and I would love to order their kits and visit their shop- looks amazing. We don't have too many shops where I live anymore. Corinne

No books, but quite a few small groupings of sketches available to download have 5x7s. Once you are at scrapbookgeneration.com, type 5x7 (no spaces) in the search box and you will get several choices -- I counted at least 8 groups. These downloads will range from a couple of sketches to groupings of 4, and they range in price from about $1 to maybe $2. Save

The only one we have that is officially for that page size is an e-book "alteration" I did of part of volume 8 of Sketches for Scrapbooking. You will find it in the sketch book category at scrapbookgeneration.com. I altered 10 of the sketches to the smaller size -- the e-book price is $5. Hope this link gets you there: www.scrapbookgeneration.com/e-book-sfs-vol-8-adapted-to-8-1-2-x-11-pages-part-one/Save
