I think it's a fine idea but I wonder what happens to the boys if they fail to do the reading and writing required? Frankly, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if most of the boys involved failed to meet the courts requirements.

My computer is giving me problems, so I couldn't read the whole article. Do these kids have to pay for the damage too? I think they should have to clean it up themselves and pay for any related expenses. And the books are a great idea!
