I would love it if you shared any pages you made with this collection.

I looked at it IRL the other day, and although I picked up Photo Play "My Imagination", I passed on the Space Academy. Would love to see what people do with it, though. I might change my mind...

Any particular reason grammadee ? I checked the Photoplay line, but it is just a bit too bright for me. Save

I picked up a collection kit to use on Space Camp pictures for my younger one. I haven't gotten to using it yet, but I really love the line, even more in person. The extra die cuts were kinda of take it/leave it for me, but the collection kit itself was great. I got the My Imagination kit, too. They're both pretty awesome.

SaveThe Imagination line had a wider variety of images, including Lego, which my dgk's play with a lot. That's why I got that one, too. It's the first PhotoPlay kit I've ever bought, and I am really happy with it. I liked the legos, paper airplanes and that awesome blue t-rex. The astronaut was a little too kiddish for me and I don't need robots, but I liked most of the kit. I was a little hesitant on the Space Academy line because the elements tend to be more vintage, but I was really glad I got it once I had it in person. This is not my layout, it's by AnyaL on scrapbook.com, but I really loved it. It does a great job showing off the line.

I had a momentary brain gap thinking CB - Chatter Box - was back! I have a lot of OA Rocket Days I've hoarded, I'd love an excuse to buy the new one but am trying to change my ways.

nicolepYeah--the sticker sheet for this set is excellent. Usually the die cuts really add a lot to a set when you buy it, but this is the odd set I really felt like the collection kit was enough. Seems like Carta Bella had some great pics on their blog or website that really showed off the contents well, but I have to dash out the door. If you can't find, them I'll look later, or I can post some photos of the pack and die cuts.

not yet but it (and Photoplay's My Imagination) are both on my wishlist - my youngest wants to be an astronaut when she grows up (and has since she was oldest enough to verbalise that) so it would be perfect for her.

IDK if that's ephemera or fussy-cut but I love it! Well, I have some OA Rocket Age that I want to mix up ... my baby (3) is OBSESSED with space. Late at night if my husband and I are watching sci-fi (like Star Trek) or something she will creep out of bed and say..."SPACE!" And try and sit on the couch and watch it with us. Plus I have these photos of her playing with her toy rocket ship to scrap...so I sort of need it, maybe... SaveSaveAttachments:

Digi-scrapper here. I bought the digital version of CB's Space Academy; and I'm using it to scrap a "book" that my son made when he was 4 years old (with a bit of help from his dad!): my son made up a story about his encounter with a robot from outer space, and drew pictures with crayons on coloured construction paper, and dh recorded the words that accompanied each picture. Very cute! and luckily I scanned and saved the pictures, and am now, finally, making a mini-album. CB's Space Academy is really working for me with this project; the retro-space theme seems to fit.
But. As much as I love anything by Steve Duncan (and some of the best stuff that CB has come out with in the past couple of years, imho, has been the work of Steve Duncan), I don't always find his kits easy to work with. The patterns and scenes are bold and intricate and thematically rich, and pretty much perfect just as they are: it almost seems like you're interrupting his artistic vision or something, when you add your own photos and journaling. Also, his kits don't have solids or workaday basic patterns: it's all artistry, all of the time.
Totally awesome if you happen to have a photo, or a series of photos, to fit the theme, but maybe not a versatile kit that you will use over and over again.
