Hi guys, I've been away from 2peas for awhile having babies and raising my 3 boys. My oldest started looking over my old albums, and loves them so much, and wishes I'd make some new updated ones. I miss me time and crafting, too. I've been a fan of Scrapbook Generation's books and sketches for awhile now. I started using them about 5 years ago (shortly after my first was born) to maximize my time and energy. Well two more kids later, and I have even less time and energy. Cue the kits! So here's my question: if you subscribe, is it too much to keep up on? Am I better off with club overstock? What about sales cycles and discounts--when is the best time to buy? I called today and Debbie was really kind and informative about the kits, but I still want to know more about the rewards program etc before I place my first order. Thanks!

Welcome back! I am of no help. I have bought all the sketch books but that's it. Just wanted to say, "glad you're here".

Welcome back to scrapbooking!
I have not subscribed to those kits at all. Don't know what you mean by "keep up"? Do you expect to use up a kit in a month? Can you order one kit, maybe even with all the extras, and see how it works for you? How long it takes you to use it up? How it meshes with the photos you want to scrap and the stories you want to tell? I might do that before jumping into a subscription.
Hope you can find something that works for you!

I know there are a few Peas that buy from there. Maybe they were not online today. One that I know of was last on, on Monday. I am sure someone will post.

Thanks for saying hello. I was looking at their rewards thing today, and saw a referral incentive. Would anyone like to refer me?

Yes, they have a monthly subscription where a kit comes like clockwork. I was wondering what people's experiences were with subscriptions vs. individual kits.

I get their kits (and would be happy to refer you Just PM me) I love them. I think it's very reasonable to keep up with one of their kits each month. My issue is just time and sometimes I hang on to a kit bc I dont have photos that match (yet) or whatever. But if you're determined to do them before the next comes, yes. It's doable I'll often purposely save a stack to do all at once at a weekend crop too. So that's another way to power through any you haven't done yet! I love SG and they have excellent customer service! Welcome back to scrapping!!!

Also, not every kit will come out in overstock every month, it depends on what they have left/how many they made. I get 2 of the first of the month kits (boy crazy and generations) so I get a discount for getting two. It's not worth it to me to wait and pounce on an overstock, since they do sell out and my pricing as a subscriber is better. This way I'm guaranteed a kit. They put kits on sale a lot! Usually there's older ones in their markdown Monday sales every week. You could always buy a few that way and start a Bank It order (they hold your box until you reach the free shipping threshold) and see if you like it. Since you've been out of scrapping you probably won't even notice that the paper is older lol! But usually they do a big national scrapbook day sale and another like Black Friday. But it's just also when they feel like doing sales, so be sure to like their FB page and get on the email list so you know.

I get the super sketch club kits, I love shopping at SG and find it easier to start a layout using their kits and sketches. You didn't ask but check out the sketch books they have. The newest one, The Whole Picture, is my absolute favorite (so far) and I've used it too many times to count since I bought it. And no, they don't pay me for saying that, .

I subscribed to scrapbook generations for several years and loved the kits!! Plenty in each but not an overwhelming amount. I actually assembled almost every kit and have those pages ready for photos. Sometimes I followed the sketch, sometimes not.....
I felt it was an awesome deal, great customer service, quality products. I got really busy a few months back and stopped my subscription as I just didn't have time to do more than store the kits away....it bothers me when I am not using stuff...
I think it a great way to start your journey back...I doubt you will regret giving the sub a try!!! Enjoy!!

i LOVE sg kits! I am taking a hiatus and trying Scrap Room again right now, but will probably go back to SG as there is just a lot of good paper in there and not too much in the way of embellies--which can get really overwhelming for me esp if they're really specifically themed. I don't find i get behind with SG--I use the sketches, and love them, and that really helps.

I subscribed for a couple of years and loved their kits. I just go way behind and they piled up. So I cancelled my subscription and work from the kits I have.

Do you know ahead of time what papers are in the kits? I don't see any description on their website of the kits.
ETA - or, do they have a gallery that shows older layouts from the kits?

I prefer hard copy--but i suppose digital is cheaper. I don't like always having to have my computer in front of me.

I have printed out a couple that I purchased from other people.
