OK, but it's a little gross, surgically speaking. ***YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!**** My coworker-friend who scrubbed in to send me to lunch, arranged the used (i.e. bloody) sponges in heart shapes for me to find when I returned. On my second case, a robotic hysterectomy, the uterine fibroids actually made the uterus a perfect heart shape! Otherwise, there was a plethora of Valentine-themed doughnuts, cake, and cookies in the lounge. Oh, and no pics -- you're welcome!

By trying to corral 20 five and six year-olds and keep them from running naked through the halls--even though they're hopped up on cupcakes and juice and skittles and blowpops. And then helping them hand out their Valentines when they cannot read the names--and I cannot read the names because THEY wrote them. And breaking up fights over half-eaten suckers and looking for the googly eye that fell off a love bug (to avoid a major meltdown) only to find said googly eye stuck to my butt. And oohing and ahhing over every mug, teddy bear, balloon and box of chocolate I got (even the one that was open and missing a piece ).

My day consisted of lunch and dinner with my husband. Lunch at his favorite, dinner at my favorite.
Came home to a bouquet of roses and lilies. We are going to eat his gift - a tray of chocolate covered strawberries - while we watch This Is Us in a bit.

I brought cute Valentine Monster treat boxes that I made to school for DD's first grade teachers, helped with her classroom party, then stayed and had lunch with DD and her little friends. DH made T-bone steaks for dinner (*without* making a nightmare mess in the kitchen, he grilled outside!). I can't complain, it was a fun day.

I'll see your 5 and 6 ear olds and raise you "Math Convention Day." So not only did I deal with my kindergarteners, but also 3 rotations of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders. I did not have google eye issues, but did have love bugs that lost legs and hands/arms, lol. And I also received delightful sweet treats and many, many lollipops!

My DH and I spent the weekend away which that counted as our Valentine's date. So I prepared a fancy(ish) dinner for the family, chicken Alfredo roll-ups, baby potatoes and steamed vegetables. And then I tried a new recipe for dessert, white chocolate raspberry mascarpone tarts. I don't have any photos of us...cause after spending the afternoon in the kitchen I look a frightful mess. 😉 Eta:not sure why my photos are all wonky

I bought DH and the kids boxes of chocolates. DH bought us all bags of dove chocolates.
I made a nice dinner (everyone's favorite, pot roast) and brownies. We are together and the kids did half the dishes, which is super rare!

I just can't stop thinking about the lady who buried her husband this morning. What a shitty way to spend Valentine's Day.
Sorry, I know that's not what you were asking for.

I'm pretty sure mine are 3" across as well. They're in the dishwasher right now. I only have 5 so it was a bit tedious because I had to bake them in two batches. I think I'll have to get another 7 so I can do it in one.

I spent the afternoon and evening with our great grandson(19mo). He was so excited to give me the Hershey's kisses that he had clenched in his hot, little fists! They were super soft and melty! He and I ate chicken and noodle, mashed potatoes and strawberries. That kid can eat! He was a sweet, sticky mess when he was done with his berries! <3

So I made my husband chocolate chip cookies! These are the best cookies I have ever made. I mean seriously good cookies. They didn't spread to much and the bottoms aren't burnt.
But. And don't be jealous. Because you all are to be green with envy!
Son came home with the last sad bouquet of tulips, a little heart cake, 37 sticks if gum, some deli max& cheese , and the best gift. Don't get jealous, because I know you all will want one... A light green bead necklace. The beads are at least 2 inches big and the necklace weights about a pound maybe 2 pounds. He thinks it looks beautiful on me! I love this kid.
He bought his dad 2 giant bags of chips ahoy cookies!

Except she had eight 18-24 month olds, so there'd be some diaper changing/potty training mixed in there, too. And it was pajama day as well, so at least she got to be comfy doing it.

We celebrated Monday night with dinner at home: Filet Mignon with garlic/rosemary butter, stuffed mushrooms with bacon and apple wood smoked Gouda, asparagus with mushrooms and shallots, fresh baked French bread & salad. I also made chocolate cupcakes for dessert - the cupcakes were good but the icing sucked. Last night we just curled up on the couch and watched a movie after scarfing down a sandwich.

Wait, there's more! DH and I don't normally really do anything for the day, but he had to run to the store yesterday before I got home, and he got me some individually-wrapped chocolate hearts then hid them for me to find. There was one in a kitchen drawer, one in my pillowcase, and I found the third in my laptop this morning. He told me there were no more to find, and I remarked that they must've been 3 for $1. He said, "No, they were 4 for $1. I ate one!"

We had no plans - my birthday was Sunday so we had a nice dinner and DQ Blizzards for dessert. My DH and I ride to work together, so when I picked him up he asked if I wanted something special for dinner, said sure what do you have in mind? Gas station fried gizzards which we both love. We stopped on way home, had to wait for them to be cooked and ate them on the way home. They are bad for us but we love, love them. When we got home I fixed cabbage, broccoli and brown rice we finished with Cream Cheese Pound Cake my girlfriend had delivered Monday for my birthday. It was a wonderful meal!

My DH spent the last few days playing me like a fiddle. He was out of work for a year and only just started working again a few weeks ago, so money is a bit tight. A few days ago he started with the standard mumbling about "commercial holidays" and how the guys at work were all feeling the pressure and complaining about how their wives were never satisfied and how lucky he was to have me because I didn't go in for all that. And for the most part, he's right. I do love surprises, but he knows it doesn't have to be anything expensive. So I honestly thought that, given our situation, he was feeling out of sorts about the whole thing and I wasn't going to be getting anything other than a kiss and a hug (which I loved) and a "Happy Valentines Day" first thing in the morning. I was a little bummed, but not ridiculously so, and life would have gone on just fine. Then, when I got home from work yesterday to my empty house (he and DD were both at work), this was waiting for me on the table. For a man who claims not to have a romantic bone in his body, he does pretty well. Jen

We had a great day. He made chocolate covered strawberries for breakfast (well, I ate them for breakfast anyway), we did assume shopping, had an amazing lunch and then went to a wine and chocolate tasting fundraiser at the conservatory. Home and in bed by 830 with mew pjs makes a happy wife around here. The conservatory was stunning

In 26 years together we have never gone out on Valentine's day. Just kept it simple with a card.
This year our favorite place had a Valentine's day special dinner. We couldn't resist and opted to take a 5:30 slot thinking it would be too early to be crowded. We were right! And we ate a quite dinner with the 10 or so other couples who picked that time. Welcome to Valentine's day with Dawn of the Dead. Lol I don't think any other couple in there was under 80.
Oh yeah, and this isn't a fancy sit down place, you have to go up to the counter to place your order.
It was awesome. We giggled our way thru the meal and then went and grabbed a beer.
By 8:00 our bodies were telling us it was bedtime, we couldn't figure out what was up. Then ds mentioned that since we think we are European and don't eat dinner until 7:30 - 8:00, that our meal at 5:30 probably confused our bodies. We tried to watch a show, but both ended up asleep by 8:45.
