It's in my head and I can't get it out.....
da da dummmm .. da da dummmm... I am pretty sure by guitar.. then the singer goes into "oh oh oh".. in a pretty high pitched voice then into the song. Pretty distinctive tune.
Pretty sure it is a band, not a single singer.. but could be wrong. He might be dead. It was a tune popular maybe 10 years ago.. although I could be WAY off on that.. but it is an older tune.
I know I know pretty vague, eh?

Do you remember any of the lyrics or the basic theme of the song? Love song? Heartbreak?

Google "ID a song by tune" and you will get a variety of sites where you can use your voice/tune to figure out what song is stuck in your head

Do you remember any of the lyrics or the basic theme of the song? Love song? Heartbreak? No.. that's part of the problem.. I can't get the words to come to me.. or I could try to Google it.. He has a higher pitch sound...doesn't sound like your run of the mill singers.. at least not in this song. the da da dummm ... then there is a slight break.. then da da dummmm..

4 Non-Blondes? What's Going On?
It has the guitar intro and high pitched voice. Definitely an ear worm.

4 Non-Blondes? What's Going On? It has the guitar intro and high pitched voice. Definitely an ear worm. That is really close... but not it.. more electric guitar... It is a guy singing and higher pitch...more rock to it I guess, but not heavy metal for sure.

Queen - Under Pressure?

No, definitely not Guns and Roses... to heavy...and not Queen... the song is much newer than those bands.
It's a slower song...
More like 4 Non-Blondes - What's Going On .. but a little faster, electric guitar...

The song is No Rain by Blind Melon.
The only reason I got it was because it is raining cats and dogs here and that song tends to jump into my brain when it rains.
