Is this the most bizarre story you've read? Death by handkerchief and lethal pen in public. I'm watching Homeland right now and think an assassin wouldn't do this in a public place like an airport with so many cameras, not wear a hat, and wear an LOL shirt. Then wait for a cab afterwards. One of the comments under the article said the same thing. The article says he was on a watch list so his brother knew where he was at all times, didn't have to meet him at the airport unless the point was to make the news (which won't broadcast in North Korea). What do you think?
Who was funding his lifestyle and gambling addiction if he wasn't on the bankrole of the ruling family anymore?
The more I read about his life, the more strange it is. Even his mother died under mysterious circumstance in exile in Moscow.
I think she's either a mistaken identity, or a decoy. Why would a real assassin have a huge 'L O L' on their shirt?
The South Korean intelligence agency did not disclose how it had obtained the letter from Mr. Kim begging his half brother to spare his life. But government sources said that emails Mr. Kim sent home through North Korean embassies had been obtained in a hacking operation. In one of the emails, they said, Mr. Kim bitterly complained that the North Korean government stopped sending him cash after his father died and Kim Jong-un took over. In 2012, a news report said Mr. Kim was thrown out of a luxury Macau hotel, unable to pay a $15,000 bill.

Kim Jong-nam squandered what little chance he may have had to succeed his father when he embarrassed Pyongyang in 2001; he was caught trying to enter Japan on a fake passport from the Dominican Republic. He told Japanese investigators that he wanted to visit Tokyo Disneyland.
