This is just a hypothetical, but I would like to see Bill and Melinda Gates in the white house. I don't know them personally, but I have often admired them. Bill built his business from the ground up and understands managing a balance sheet, employee issues, international business issues, immigration and the importance of universal health care. They are part of the 1%, but are philanthropists. Their commitment and compassion to their foundation has save lives. They understand the need of why contraception needs to be affordable or free and how it saves the lives of women. I find myself wishing I could invite them to a town hall with my state and federal representatives to be an expert witness when discussing the big picture of these important issue. Is there another business family you would like to see in the executive office? Buffett and Gates on dreams, vaccines and sexBill Gates and Bioterrorism
What happened at the Munich Security Conference and who went to represent from the current administration?

bill gates was not such a great business man in the beginning.. he succeeded cause he ripped off a few people.. and his dad as a lawyer provided support and bill was smart about that. I agree he has done good things with his money.. but there are a few things in the past that don't hold up in the light of day...
he would have gone to my high school in my class.. if he wasn't in private school... no where near what trump has done. just saying..

Seriously? He's the liberal version of Trump. Do you honestly think he would sell off all his business interests if elected.

I am not naive enough to believe Bill Gates is a saint, but I admire him in choosing to donate his wealth for philanthropic issues. I am trying to consider an business CEO in the White House, an outsider that can have a long term vision for the United States, who is capable of balancing fiscal responsibility and social agenda.
Since this is hypothetical, is there a business person or a family you would like to see in the White House? (Donald Trump is the President and not a hypothetical).

I can't get past his role in the corporatization of public education.

Seriously? He's the liberal version of Trump. Do you honestly think he would sell off all his business interests if elected. Oh the delicious irony here-- Surely you're not comparing him to what Trump has NOT done, won't do, refuses to do, and claims exemption from? Trump touts daily that the president is free of conflict of interest, that he doesn't have to do anything, and keeps using his business properties on the taxpayers dime. I believe that Mark Cuban is a decent, ETHICAL, smart businessman, who is not beholden to foreign entities. I believe that if he did run, and become President that, YES, he would put his businesses in a blind trust, that he would release his taxes, and that he would be a great leader.

I can't get past his role in the corporatization of public education. Thank you Merge, public education is important to me too. I thought he focused on non-profit schools Charter Schools. I think we can learn from his research into education and he does emphasize the importance of providing teachers with the support they need. Since education is not my specialty, I don't have the same understanding of what "support teachers need" means as you do. I want to see a more well rounded public education where children can go on field trips to the Zoo or Museums for example. How teachers can keep them focused during the day and cover so much material seems exhausting. My daughters third grade field trip was to a habitat on school land was a 10 minute bus ride away. It was okay and thankfully it didn't get cancelled because of the rain. Their school field day has been in the school gym for the last few years because it was taken away from the PTO and given to the gym teachers as a KPI but no budget to make it fun. They do they best that they can. When the PTO handled it we paid for t-shirts on back to school night and it allowed each class had their own t-shirt and bandana. Which brings me to the point that our society often forgets the importance of the PTO. I am so tired of Texas Legislators pretending to care about children, when they are so focused on overturning Roe VS Wade or bathroom bill that we already have multiple ordinances in place to protect children. I have wondered off on a tangent and I need to step away from the computer and do some yard work and laundry to get ready for the week.

I'm gonna have to take a pass on that one. I like him just fine, but no. I don't see him being any more successful. At playing President than Trump is right now.
