Loved the book, hope the mini series is just as good! We don't normally get HBO, but they are having a free preview weekend so I can at least see the first installment! Yay! I'll decide after this episode if we want to sign up for service. (How many people are they sucking in with this!? Well played, HBO!)
I'm not sure if l'll watch tonight or save it for my elliptical workout in the morning. It will be a lot easier to get up at 5 tomorrow if I have it waiting! We're about to watch the Walking Dead now!

I added the HBO streaming service on my Amazon account just to see the series. FYI, it's a free month trial. It looks really good and I am excited to watch this. I didn't know it was based on a book, will have to read the book one of these days!

I'm recording a whole lot of movies and shows this weekend, including this one right now. I really like the cast and hope it lives up to expectations. Dh is surfing movies otherwise I'd be watching.

We don't get HBO! I read about it today, and wasn't sure if it was a movie or a tv show. Maybe when it is on netflix I can watch it. The book was good! And I like Reese Witherspon.

Iain Armitage who plays Ziggy is the cutest kid in the world. I'd watch it just for him!
I think it is a great cast... I'm settling in to watching it now.

DD just finished the book last week. She really enjoyed it but is concerned that the TV show is going to lose something because it's set in the US and not at Bondi Beach in Sydney. I haven't read the book so I can't comment on that. Interestingly, the author referenced this in an article I read the other day. (There must have been a fair bit of negativity about it being turned into an American series - you know, the big bad Yanks taking over again and she is urging people to give it a go.) DD and I are going to watch it. Luckily it starts here at the same time in the US instead of us having to wait a few months - "Express form the US" as they say here. Which actually means it was on at 1pm Monday afternoon which was nearly 2 hours ago! Then there is an encore showing tonight at 8:30pm and we will watch it then.

I'm pvr'ing it because I'm only half done the book. I've read a few of Laine Moriarty's books and had thought I heard Big Little Lies was.going to be a movie. So I didn't panic read the book. I signed up for HBO for the next 7 weeks just so I could watch this.

I really liked the first episode. It's been awhile since I read the book but so far, seems to be pretty spot on. I'm curious to see if they will show complete story in the first season or if there will be a season 2.

I haven't read the book yet (historical fiction is more my genre) but I did watch the show last night and really liked it. Can't wait to see the next episode.

AussieMeg, I was so bummed that they changed the location. I was looking forward to seeing and hearing Australia. I always get a kick out of shows filmed in areas I know and just want to add that Reese has a really interesting commute to get from her house to the school. I did watch last night and kept having to pause for my noisy family coming and going so lost a bit of the flow. My impression was it was really disjointed anyway. I don't think this spoils anything so I won't bubble my whine about Reese and her twisted ankle, continuing to limp along in her 6 inch heels for most of the episode.

I don't have HBO so can't watch, but I would if I could. I liked the book, like the cast, and it has gotten good reviews. Hope everybody enjoys it!
(and I love that Reese Witherspoon's production company is focused on movies with good roles for women and supporting women behind the scenes too)

I really liked it. Loved Reese Witherspoon. I also like the quick police interviews which I know were from the book, but I liked how they were incorporated. I thought the change in locale would be distracting, but it was fine-except for the fact that I'm usually bundled up whenever I'm in Monterey. It's not exactly a warm beach town.

I read the book long enough ago that I remember I liked it and I know the jist of the plot, but I can't remember all the details (and I've read a number of Liane Moriarty's books and I think I'm getting some of them mixed up!). So I was excited to see this would be made into a series - until I found out it would be on HBO, which we don't have. Maybe once the whole thing is out, I'll sign up and binge watch it all. Glad to hear you guys are liking it so far!

Just watched the first episode and really liked it. And Alexander Skarsgard, I wasn't expecting to see him in this but glad to see him (though I'm not sure what to make of the character he plays, is he supposed to be a good or bad guy?). I missed seeing him after True Blood ended. I love watching a good mystery. The kids are really good actors as well.
I'm going to read the book after the series. I don't want to spoil anything.

Can omeone tell me who was killed? You don't want to know. You didn't know until the very end in the book either, it's the mystery that makes it so good. Really, don't Google and find out. Just go along for the ride.

Can omeone tell me who was killed? I agree with linda~lou you don't want to know, just watch and enjoy. I just binged read the rest of the book and the person who dies isn't revealed until the book is 91% finished. I had about 7 people I thought died, adults and children as you were reading the little interviews which weren't very telling just confusing.

Forgot that I had read the book until I started watching last night. ha ha We had HBO for the weekend so I watched. (I'm sick and bored.) However, I won't be able to see the the rest of it because...no HBO. Can't remember who died either. Should I google? hmm

If you are going to watch the show don't google it... that is part of the fun.. you don't know until the very end.
I know I thought it was one person for quite awhile and I was totally off. Though I did figure it out.
It is a fun who done it.

The unknown victim is the whole point of the story trying to figure out 'who dun it'
