And that little boy, Ziggy. Omg I want to take him home with me. So darling. The little girl that got chocked is also alarmingly beautiful. I looked at their IMDB pages and was amazed at how beautiful both children are.

The cow lick at the forehead. Gah. He reminds me so of both my boys when they were little. He's also a good little actor.

I really liked the first episode. I can't remember the ending of the book, so it's even better! Like someone else said, I've read most of her books and the characters and storylines are kind of mixed up in my head!

This is me. i read the book and really liked the book but for the life of me can't remember who was killed. LOL My husband watched the show with me last night and asked me. I said it is a mystery for both of us! I also think the casting was spot on! Loving it so far.

It is is his first acting role.. he has done a couple of things since... so hopefully we will be seeing a lot of him.

Like someone else said, I've read most of her books and the characters and storylines are kind of mixed up in my head! Me too, it was annoying me too much to enjoy the show. Just when I thought I remembered what it was about, I realized it was another book. I have to re-read the synopsis.

I liked it. I'll watch the whole thing . Wikipedia says it's 7 episodes. I remember who was killed, but I'm not sure I remember who did it. I think I do, but...So I guess that'll help keep me engaged .

Another who read the book some time ago and the storyline is slowly coming back to me as I watched. Love it so far. I love the setting, Monterey is so so beautiful, the properties they are filming on are just breathtaking. Love all the casting, too, and I agree the kids are absolutely beautiful! I'm SO into this. and I lol when they mentioned Camarillo. IDK silly..but when they mention a town local to you its always such a kick..like how did they come to pick that town as where the grandparents live? I always assume one of the writers lives there and wants a little Easter Egg.

I am loving it! They have done a great job of moving the storyline to the States, IMO, something I was initially disappointed in. Great casting and great acting and the scenery is absolutely stunning!

Are y'all still watching? I'm sad there is only one episode left! I *think* I remember the ending now. I'm dying to know if I'm right...not going to Google...not going to Google!!!
For anyone that missed it, they are playing all of the episodes in a row before the finale on Sunday.
I love the soundtrack to the series, too! Had to find the opening song and purchase it on iTunes. It's Michael Kiwanuka - Cold Little Heart.

I go back and forth on this series, but I'm mostly loving it and although I only read the book last summer, I swear I can't remember who dies and who did it, which makes watching it all the more enjoyable.
Some scenes seem overly drawn out, but it's been a fun watch mostly.
I agree about the soundtrack, thanks for the Spotify tip, Padresfan!

I have a question I am dying to ask.. might result in some spoilers.. so I put it in a spoiler box. It's mainly a question about the difference between the book and movie. It has nothing to do with who killed and who might be the murderer. In the book did Madeline have an affair?
I don't remember that part at all. It just seems a bit out of character for her. I get that it shows her dissatisfaction with her life. Just doesn't work for me.
Anyone remember?

I've gotten annoyed by how much it's strayed from the book as the series as gone on. ktdoesntscrap ...the answer to your spoiler question is NO and that's been the most annoying story line to me. The Avenue Q production was not part of the book. I really don't remember the community theater aspect of Madeline's life being much of a focus at all, actually. Jane never went to try to find/confront the father of Ziggy either. But there's only one more episode, so I'll deal with it .

I am confused about how they are going to make the connection between Ziggy's Dad and Perry Wright...
I think they need that to make it all work...

This miniseries is my new guilty pleasure! I haven't read the book but I think the finale is heading in an obvious direction. I have never been a Nicole Kidman fan, but she's fantastic in this! the real stars of the show, though, are the ocean front homes these people live in

I think the connection they're making is glaringly obvious. I won't post here because I don't know how to post a spoiler from my phone, but I'd be surprised if the connection between perry and jane's rapist is anything but the obvious.

I started watching and started reading the book. I want to like it so much. BUT it is just too much whining. Or it seems like whining to me. I did go ahead and skip to the last of the book to find out who died. I will stick to the end to see how they tie it all up. Good to know about the marathon. I may try to dvr the episodes I have missed or are not on the dvr now.

When I read the book, at about 1/3 the way through I was pretty sure who the victim and who the killer was. I was wrong on both accounts. Though not very far off.

I have a hunch about the bully, the dead person and the murderer I think the bully and the dead person are related. I think the murderer could be a couple of different people.

Dh and I have been watching this. I read the book, so I know who dies, who caused the death, and who the bully really is. DH thinks he has it all figured out.... he's totally wrong on all counts.
