Edited to add: it is embarrassing when you don't get all the facts right. The MP's debated the trip but did not vote. The debate was the result of a signed petition with 1.8 M signatures against the visit. The conservative MP are for it the opposition party not so much. trump will go to The UK on a state visit. Not to "save face" it's still embarrassing that it was even debated. Especially in the U.K. Add to that Pence was in Europe telling the leaders trump really didn't mean all what he said about NATO as long as they pay their fair share. And the Secretary of Defense is in Iraq telling the Iraqis that the US isn't going to take their oil.

Left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.

It's totally okay to LIE to the American people in order to get your sheeple to continue to follow you and support you, thinking that they won't find out what your team is telling the foreign govt that they are trying to work with.

It's okay if you're republican.

I didn't really expect it to be overturned but was glad that people voiced their opinion on the matter. He'll probably report that the protesters that will turn out when he gets here as being the amazing number that turned out to welcome him Our poor Queen, the things she has to put up with just to play the diplomacy game

No,that's not quite what Prince Charles 'is for'. It doesn't work like that unfortunately because to not officially receive your President would be a snub and she wouldn't break protocol and do that.

Prince Charles will probably meet him on arrival but there will be a banquet at Buckingham Palace in his honour ( oh I feel sick!!) where the poor woman will have to sit next to him for hours.......and wait for it ....he also has to make a speech....Oh dear lord!!

Well, nothing screams post BREXIT panic and desperation than this invitation and just how TM thought that this would actually help is pretty much unfathomable. She made the invite too early in some deluded attempt to influence US policy and she will fall on that sword.

Since she seems to like hats, and she really rocks them too. Any possibility she might consider a pink hat with maybe some ears? @megmc there was previously an article about how People do not want Prince Charles to meet with Trump as Climate change is a special issue to Prince Charles and they don't think Trump would tolerate a lecture on the subject. I don't see why not, it would be rude not to listen to Prince Charles even should he choose to read the phone directory

Today or thereabouts is the 75th anniversary of the order that sent Japanese-Americans to internment camps during WWII. You'd think we would have learned a few things in 75 years. @@

Absolutely fucking disgraceful. I think it's absolutely fucking disgraceful that whether you agree with his politics or not that another country would even consider not receiving him. He is the elected President to the United States of America. A country which almost every other country has no problem taking funds from and asking for emergency help. He was elected by the American people using the election system that we have had in place for hundreds of years and whether you think he's *your President* or not, he is. And he should be treated as such by other countries. If they don't want to receive him, then they can take their hands out of our pockets now and in the future when they may need some sort of emergency funds or military defense.

First of all, he's not *her president* at all. Maybe the Aussie part of her name will clue you in. Second, she was responding to the article linked in the quoted portion of her post, not commenting on the issue re UK citizens not wanting *our president* to visit. Third, it is unseemly to go around telling people they should be polite to us because we give them money. @@

If and when the UK receives ANY aid from the US or have our "hands in your pocket"as you put it, you might have an argument on the merits of inviting him here. Until such time, we as citizens of this country. have every right in voicing our opinion as to who we find worthy of an invite. Its not an automatic right for an invite because you happen to be the president of the United States of America, a man that in no way shape or form shares the values of the majority of the people in this country, ridicules our laws and lies about our country. It's irrelevant what his political party is or how he was voted into office.

His own actions and words have disgraced the US, and not by any disdain from our refupeas. Those countries who have been offended/don't like his way/don't like him/think he is a raging buffoon are all their own opinions, opinions formed by HIS actions, not by any "anti-trump" people. HIS actions and rhetoric are deplorable, embarrassing, uneducated, he shows such a lack of knowledge of any understanding. HE has no one else to blame but himself for the type of reception he gets from other country's. HE has embarrassed himself AND the US by the insulting garbage he spews about other countries, ethnicity, and religious groups. I hope more countries kick his ass right to the curb each time he behaves like a heathen.

For as often as we get accused of not listening, it would be nice if just one of the conservatives on this board managed to hear and comprehend that our issues with Trump - the world's issues with Trump - go far, far beyond simple politics. I don't really know why that's so hard to grasp. And frankly, a man who wants to exercise unilateral control over who can and cannot enter our country shouldn't be surprised when other sovereign nations exercise the same right.

A loan of 3.75billion after the war and was totally repaid at the end of 2006 I think you'll find.
