Of course I know that. I'm speaking generally. As for being unseemly, I disagree. Thanks for the reminder about why I'm not a Republican anymore. Thanks for reminding me why I'll never be a Democrat.

I think it's absolutely fucking disgraceful that whether you agree with his politics or not that another country would even consider not receiving him. He is the elected President to the United States of America. A country which almost every other country has no problem taking funds from and asking for emergency help. He was elected by the American people using the election system that we have had in place for hundreds of years and whether you think he's *your President* or not, he is. And he should be treated as such by other countries. If they don't want to receive him, then they can take their hands out of our pockets now and in the future when they may need some sort of emergency funds or military defense. If and when the UK receives ANY aid from the US or have our "hands in your pocket"as you put it, you might have an argument on the merits of inviting him here. Until such time, we as citizens of this country. have every right in voicing our opinion as to who we find worthy of an invite. Its not an automatic right for an invite because you happen to be the president of the United States of America, a man that in no way shape or form shares the values of the majority of the people in this country, ridicules our laws and lies about our country. It's irrelevant what his political party is or how he was voted into office. There are millions upon millions of people who refuse to align themselves with his disgusting rhetoric. And for good reason.

His own actions and words have disgraced the US, and not by any disdain from our refupeas. Those countries who have been offended/don't like his way/don't like him/think he is a raging buffoon are all their own opinions, opinions formed by HIS actions, not by any "anti-trump" people. HIS actions and rhetoric are deplorable, embarrassing, uneducated, he shows such a lack of knowledge of any understanding. HE has no one else to blame but himself for the type of reception he gets from other country's. HE has embarrassed himself AND the US by the insulting garbage he spews about other countries, ethnicity, and religious groups. I hope more countries kick his ass right to the curb each time he behaves like a heathen. I totally agree and this is worth quoting and repeating.

The UK has received over $7 billion dollars in military aid from the US since 1946. A loan of 3.75billion after the war and was totally repaid at the end of 2006 I think you'll find. Here's a neat little scheme. See if you can find the triple win in it for the oligarchs: First - US gives other countries "military aid" Next - US put in stipulations that aid must be used, at least in part, to buy American goods or services Finally - US gets Crow about American largess Did you spot the triple win? 1. Getting the US taxpayer (the middle income ones who actually pay taxes) to fund defense contracts, oil, etc. via the "aid" 2. Oligarchs get that taxpayer money in their big oil, defense, arms deals from the aided country 3. Arms increase in one area causes neighbors to seek similar deal

The queen doesn't have to recieve him does she? Isn't that what Charles is for? Actually what's the fourth prince's name? Maybe that's who should recieve him. On a state visit she will. Prince Charles will probably meet him on arrival but there will be a banquet at Buckingham Palace in his honour ( oh I feel sick!!) where the poor woman will have to sit next to him for hours.......and wait for it ....he also has to make a speech....Oh dear lord!! Oh FFS. I wonder what kind of shit salad he'll serve up during that speech. I'll just say it now. I'm so sorry.

You are following in the steps of "your president" by excelling in the behavior of an ugly American. What tiny hands and apparently you don't get that as much as you two think the other countries need us, we need them just as well. For a lot of reasons. The days of "isolationism" are over. So far tiny hands has: Given China a leadership roll in Asia they wouldn't of had if tiny hands hadn't handed it to them when he pulled out of TPP. A leadership roll that doesn't benefit US interests. His comments about NATO have given our long time allies reason not to trust the US. Because of this the Vice President had to go to our NATO allies and tell the. Trump didn't really mean what he said. His comments about how he would have taken the Iraqi oil have put our troops fighting in the area at risk. Because of this the Secretary of Defense had to go to Iraq and tell the Iraqis trump really didn't mean what he said. Because of his words and actions one of our closest allies had a debate on whether they would let tiny hands into the country for a state visit. And lets don't forget that Sweden was left wondering what had happened in their country that apparently trump knew about and had gotten the information from Fox News. "Your presidents' " actions are an embarrassment to the United States and jeopardizes our standing in the world. Much to the delight of Russia and China. And that is not in our best interests.

We've never had a reason to do so up until now. And after reading this article today I wish they hadn't allowed him to come. This is why I am not travelling to the U.S anytime soon, nor will I vote for any school groups or youth groups my child is involved in going to the U.S. I will spend my travel dollars elsewhere. This is not acceptable. The world needs to stand up and fight for what is right. This is discrimination. Racism. And wrong.

When Parliament vote, they do so in the main chamber of the House of Commons. That is not the main chamber of the House of Commons. Nor is it even a quarter of our MPs.

Second, she was responding to the article linked in the quoted portion of her post, not commenting on the issue re UK citizens not wanting *our president* to visit. Third, it is unseemly to go around telling people they should be polite to us because we give them money. @@ Not to mention that most of the Western world are a pretty big market for American goods. The US has never "helped" any of us because of it's kind and caring heart, it is solely because of it's geopolitical and economical interests.....something the far right seems to have trouble understanding.

For as often as we get accused of not listening, it would be nice if just one of the conservatives on this board managed to hear and comprehend that our issues with Trump - the world's issues with Trump - go far, far beyond simple politics. I don't really know why that's so hard to grasp. And frankly, a man who wants to exercise unilateral control over who can and cannot enter our country shouldn't be surprised when other sovereign nations exercise the same right. He should, in fact, be very understanding when we do so.

Thanks for reminding me why I'll never be a Democrat. No...we thank YOU for that! You can go ahead and thank me, too then. As someone that started out as a Republican years ago, I grew into more of a moderate. I haven't straight aligned with a specific party for years. My votes change from election to election. I've voted republican. I've voted democrat. The hate from the left that I've seen directed towards people I know personally, and the hate from the left I've seen spewed here repeatedly directly towards people that didn't vote like you (democrats/liberals), has been a huge eyeopener. Hating the candidate is one thing. Hating the people is another story. So you are very welcome, because I can guarantee you that as sure as I'm sitting here typing this, I will never vote for another democrat. I will never put myself in the same camp. There are lots of us out here listening (**eta** republicans, independents, moderates), and we hear you (democrats/liberals) loud and clear.

For someone who has stated that they vote all over, to now make the claim to be never voting democratic again (because of the people, not the candidate) may be very shortsighted if you. You're stating, that no matter how great a democratic candidate is, you'll still vote for the most shitty, horrible republican--why? To be spiteful. What's funny here is that you are doing exactly what you're taking me to task for--hating on people who don't think like you. I didn't post what I did because she's republican, I did because of what she has actually said in this thread as well as others. Just like I would do/have done with Trumpster and what I've said about other countries forming their opinions on him based on what he said and does. I've been called pretty crappy things, been given a derogatory label because of being more liberal and for expressing my disgust over the POTUS, and I've seen a lot of hatred by conservatives here and on Facebook. Lumping everyone into the same (hated) group instead of the content of their works and actions is like burying your head in the sand. Trump is a republican. I despise Trump I don't despise all republicans.

That makes sense. But don't let that cloud the bigger picture for you. Continue to be an informed voter. Not everyone needs to ride party lines.

And there is the 2016 election in a nutshell. Though many don't realize yet that that's what they've done. That is what has been stated more than once on this site as well as globally. It's not just 2016 but it will be 2020. You (the liberals) are losing your own elections by your actions and I don't understand why most fail to acknowledge it. You are driving people away both figuratively and literally

Thank you, and I understand and can appreciate what you're saying. I don't read comments on news sites, and I try to make sure I only read what would be considered reputable news sites. I do my best to be informed and keeping my mind open by watching varied news channels, and I do get a good glimpse at opposing views here since this is a pretty big community. I have absolutely no problem with anyone having an opposing view. I won't not like someone because I don't agree with them. What I do have a problem with is how individuals are treated based on who they voted for. This is ongoing. Someone just the other day made a comment that anyone that didn't vote for Obama was (basically) a racist. I've read numerous times if someone voted for Trump they were a: bigot, homophobe, xenophobe, etc. And I don't want to leave out Trump voters wanna break up families, Trump voters are heartless for wanting to limit refugees, and I could go on and on. It's really not me being spiteful, and I'm certainly not burying my head in the sand. It's my realization that if the democratic party represents the voices here, then that's not who I am. And with that I'm out of these political threads. I'm burnt out.

@devildog I'm sure it does get tiresome, reading how stupid you are if you're a Republican. But I see just as many awful things posted about Democrats. (Not here, but on the internet in general, and that's nothing new.)
Now, it's increasingly difficult to be moderate because we're drowned out by the far more vocal liberals and conservatives who seem determined to out-shout each other day after day after day.
Don't lose hope that some day the pendulum will swing back around to be less partisan and more simply American. It seems hopeless right now but we can still try and not feed into either extreme.
I'm a Democrat in general who leans liberal on most issues. I don't get the blind loyalty of conservatives cheering Trump on no matter what comes out of his Twitter hole nor the snooty sneer of more "enlightened" liberals who refuse to see that they're part of the problem.

I agree that not having Trump visit a country is a slap in the face. However, do we invite all other leaders to our country? Do we treat them all equally or view them as similar entities? No. We all consider Kim Jung Il and Irans leaders as being unstable. It is time that trump and the republicans realize that all of his "tell it like it is" talk has consequences. He needs to start thinking before he speaks and tone down his rhetoric. And appear to be mentally stable, or there will continue to be far reaching consequences. Regardless of whether his supporters "care" about what other countries think of him or not.
