I am sorry but haven't read all the replies so someone could have said this already.
Just tell her "I'm glad you like it Sally but it was just something I painted on a whim one rare free afternoon, I really don't have the time to paint but I am glad you liked it." and just leave it at that.

So I responded with "Thank you for the compliment. I just picked up painting for my own enjoyment, not to sell anything, so I'll have to decline." She replied saying she understood. So thank you Peas. I know I was over analyzing the situation. I'm just terrible at this kind of thing. Here's the painting. Hardly earth shattering lol.
