www.myfreetaxes.com will let you file federal and state at the same time for free. It is a partnership with United Way and others.

Turbo Tax Tax Freedom. Totally free Fed. and State taxes if you make a little over 30,000 or less adjusted gross income a year. Google Turbo Tax Freedom and it should show up.

We've always used TaxAct until this year when we had a lot of things going on and had to hand it over to a CPA.

a little unsolicted advise - let him do his taxes - give him the websites, answer questions but let him do them. At some point, he's going to have to take over dealing with his own taxes and ime, it's best to start when they are super easy and gradually grow into the harder taxes as income and life changes.

VERY GOOD ADVICE! I agree. I will do it with him. He's a little ADD and needs guidance, but I completely agree with you! Thank you. And thanks to everyone else too...your advice really helps...I can take it from here!

I used TurboTax for my DD.... I have done her taxes since 16 as that is the business I am in (NOT a CPA though)... but since I screwed up my own taxes 2 years in a row... maybe next year she should do her own! lol...
My son finally started doing his own last year.. proud mom moment!! That was probably the last thing I was 'doing' for him!!
Heck my parents had mine done until I was about 20ish... I started doing mine (well sending them in myself to our family CPA)... I probably didn't attempt my own until I started at the CPA firm (job I had for 20 years).. then I had lots of backup and help!
