I'm really sad to hear this today. He was my first teenage idol too. While all my other friends were crazy about Donnie Osmond it was always David Cassidy for me. It is a terrible, horrible disease and I am so sorry to hear it has struck David Cassidy at such an early age.

I feel bad for him if it's true. I hope he is not using this as an excuse for his drunken performance that was reported on the news recently. I wonder if the alleged drunkenness was actually symptoms of the dementia? And yes, I realize that David Cassidy has a history of alcoholism. I remember, years ago, when Annette Funicello announced that she had multiple sclerosis. One of the reasons she gave for announcing her illness was that there were some reports in the press of her being drunk in public, but it was actually symptoms of her illness.

I saw the performance on television and it didn't look much like dementia (I'm no expert though). He really looked like he had been drinking.

That is so terribly sad.
It is such a horrible disease that robs the person of themselves, and everyone else around them of that person.
