"Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s reclusive chief strategist and the intellectual force behind his nationalist agenda, said Thursday that the new administration is locked in an unending battle against the media and other globalist forces to “deconstruct” an outdated system of governance."
This would be hilarious if it weren't so sad. Yes, the President who put Goldman into two key cabinet positions is against "Globalization". The President who put in billionaires who made their money off globalization is against globalization. Oy.
The saddest thing in life, to me, is that destruction is easier than construction. Libraries, research, monuments, temples, learning, systems built up over decades and centuries can be destroyed in minutes or hours. And the destroyers think they're so amazing for doing it. Creating is hard. Destroying it is easy.

Destroying with nothing good to fill the void leads to chaos.

Destroying with nothing good to fill the void leads to chaos. Im sure his plan somehow includes him and his buddies getting much richer and more powerful while everyone else fends for themselves.

Bannon is a vile, vile man. It will be interesting to find out about the debates that he and the new head of the NSA will have.

Of all the things that have happened over the last month, this one has shaken me to the core. We knew he was bad, but to realize this is just part of Bannon's long game is chilling. Our government is being dismantled before our very eyes. I truly though that Trump would be outmatched once he had to deal with Congress. Bannon is simply doing an end run around them. They seem completely powerless. I thought the conservatives were scary. This takes it to a whole new level.

Yeah the career politicians are not equipped to deal with these guys. It's the real-life shark tank.

Is this really the change that people wanted? If not, the people who voted for Trump need to wake up and start screaming as loud as the Democrats are. If there was enough support from the people, I think something could be done about Trump before he does too much damage. But as it is now, it seems that the republicans in congress are just going to keep going with the flow until trump loses enough support that it is detrimental to their next campaigns.

I was like dude, do your own research. Not to mention, anything I post is "fake news!!1!" Sorry for the tangent. I just don't understand.....pretty much anything these days.

Well, when is comes to foreign policy, I actually miss the GW Bush-era Neo-cons. Never thought I'd say that.
When it comes to domestic policy and world view, I am profoundly scared. Never thought I'd say that.

I read the article through FB and it sent chills down my spine and not in a good way! I may be your neighbour but this would also affect Canada and not in a good way. I always thought Trump was just the distraction and those behind him were the real danger.

I was reading that since 2010, there have been 89 "media outlets" that had been created for the purpose of promoting the "nationalist" views, and that they helped with the propaganda being forced now. Scary that they've been planning this shit.

This is what Trump voters wanted? Really? I don't recall anyone saying they were voting for someone to dismantle the federal government. But maybe I just haven't been listening ...

I doubt the president actually understands Steve Brannon's ideology.
I suspect he just knows which parts make people roar with joy at a rally. And most of the people at those rallies probably don't endorse Bannon Ideology.
Both the president and his base are a means to an end.
#IntellectualsforTrump (Yeah, it's a thing - okay, maybe not the hashtag - and they don't much care whether their human vehicle understands their ideology...or ANY ideology.)

It's truly terrifying. If they succeed in taking down the media, the rest of the country won't be far behind. I don't understand how anyone can't see this for exactly what it is and be totally fine with it.

thank goodness for people like Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Trevor Noah, Samantha Bee, the SNL cast and writers, etc... because they can resist and disseminate information through the lens of 'entertainment' and 'satire' and I think there is just going to be more and more of that, hopefully. And all the countless people who post political information and their own commentary on youtube... they can't stop ALL of it, no matter what they might want, or say. (right? )

Any particular reason that a "deconstruction" could not be had with competent, rational people?? Not sure why people who want a deconstruction can't be bothered to ask that question.
