I was reading a few things on Paleo diet. But it's difficult to find legitimate sites with information. When I Google, most of the hits are advertisements. Even Google scholar didn't give me a lot of information. So, Peas, Do any of you have the real scoop, good or bad?
can you also give me an idea of what the diet is like... How hard is it to follow?

You can look at Whole30, Mark Sisson, Robb Wolf. W30 is the stricter side of Paleo. Paleo is whole foods. No grains, legumes (but it varies on the Paleo person), no sugar, no flour. Unprocessed whole food. I'm a fan. I feel better when taking the processed crap out of the diet.

Nom Nom Paleo is another great site. WholeSisters is one that I look at.
I have just finished a round of W30. The very strict friend of Paleo. I am trying to eat as Paleo as I can. I won't get militant with it but actively looking at labels and being more aware. I will admit that I have felt much better after doing this. It does take time and planning. Not a lot of take out, fast food but then that is what you are trying to get away from on these changes.

Paleo is also no dairy. There is definitely an adjustment and more thinking about what you eat when you are getting started but you get into a rhythm pretty quickly. I found Practical Paleo by Diane Sanfilippo, Against All Grain by Danielle Walker and Elana's Pantry by Elana Amsterdam are my best sources for information and recipes. DH and I were following it strictly a couple of years ago and still eat pretty low carb. I'll eat a bit of cheese, bread and sushi without guilt. It was easy to continue making rice or pasta for the kids and I still have no interest in adding it to my plate. I don't find eating out to be too difficult but always check menus so I know what options are available. Fried fast food places don't offer much (although you can get a burger without a bun at In-n-Out) but Panera, Panda & Chipotle can be Paleo friendly. Around here I've found most restaurants have a few choices for Paleo friendly meals.
