I have started dabbling in hybrid pocket scrapping. I am using the Project Mouse and PL Honey edition to scrap our Disney album. I haven't really started using drop shadows yet. For my title cards, I am pretty much just adding the titles on the premade cards. Do you typically use drop shadows on title fonts? If so, what settings do you usually use?

I use drop shadow on just about anything when I think it looks good. I use full Photoshop, don't know what you're using- maybe an 8-11 distance, 0 spread, 10-13 size. I usually make the shadow a darker color of the surface the title or whatever is sitting on, rather than black, adjusting the opacity.

I don't ever do shadows on text, except for alphas that are meant to look like stickers or other dimensional items. It's a personal choice, of course, but in "traditional" digiscrapping (is that a fair description?) it's not very common. Stef is a bit of a maverick.

You're right, Gen, I never like to do things the conventional way! You know me so well! The reason I shadow my words sometimes (rarely do I shadow journaling because it's so tiny, and it looks weird) is because I like a more dimensional look, and feel that titles can also be dimensional- not just like they are flat, like paper sitting on another piece of paper. I often add bevels, or make my titles look like they were cut out of the background instead of sitting on top. Just some ideas.

It's funny... for being the "rebel" that I am, I'm such a rule-follower.
P.S. When are you coming to visit again?

I am with Gennifer, I don't use shadows for any text that is suppose to look like it's printed/typed on the object. Only if it's a dimensional type of text. And when I do, I use a shade of grey, not black. But the great thing about digi-scrapping, if you don't like it, change it! You haven't wasted anything!
