Even though I do PL, I have only once bought actual Becky Higgins PL products, and it was a box of sheet protectors about a year ago. When I opened up the box, it had two different styles, but one type (the whole batch) were a bit yellowed and had a light smell to them. From what I read, most people don't have this problem with theirs, but it's still pretty disappointing. And, not all the pockets are the same size, so even the PL brand cards don't fit in all the pockets. Just lots of little things that left me highly underwhelmed by the quality.
So, ever since then, I try to avoid the PL brand products... until the HS stuff came out. I bought two of the value kits, and I love them. The quality is great, they're super cute, etc. So today, feeling more comfortable with the PL brand, I went to buy the new panoramic page protectors. It was the rotten cherry on top of the already rough day. None of the protectors are folded on the crease where they're supposed to be, so the row of pockets near the seam all have a crease in them, making them very difficult to use. In fact, they're very likely going back to Michael's tomorrow, unless I can figure out how to flatten them out. It's so disappointing because I was so excited to work with them. :-(. If you're still reading this, thanks for hanging in there and letting me vent.
Is anyone else finding this problem? Or am I just being too picky?
ETA: I checked both packages I bought. Of the three different types, only ONE is folded where it is supposed to be.

Hmmm...I have some of the PL brand protectors but they are not yellowed nor did they have any damage. I would definitely take them back.

It sounds like bum luck to me, unfortunately I haven't had any issues with any of the packs I've bought. I'd definitely exchange your new ones if you can--open them up at the store to double check the new ones before you walk out, too. The yellowed ones sound funny, it's a shame it's too late to return those, too.

It's weird, and I'm not sure if it matters, but: the sticker on the right (the one that has an illustration of which protectors are in the package) was covered with another sticker that showed what was in the package I bought. Hope that made sense. At any rate, I did package them up to return them to the store. At this point, I'm just going to get my money back. I'll stick to my WRMK and MAMBI pocket pages. I also sent an email, via Becky's blog, to inform them of my experiences. But, I won't be holding my breathe for a reply. *sigh*

How disappointing! I've bought various configurations of BH page protectors and haven't had any trouble. But if they were damaged, I'd definitely return them.

I did hear back from PL and, while they did blame AC for the defective products, they at least apologized for it. They offered to replace my protectors, even if I returned the other ones to Michael's, which I'm doing today. However, they don't anticipate receiving any more until the end of September. ETA: I misinterpreted their email. What they meant to say was that I could return the sheet protectors I have to them, with me laying the shipping both ways, and they will send me new ones. But, she could not personally guarantee that the new ones would be correct. And this is why I shall never spend another penny on the PL brand.

I bought a package of the panoramic page protectors too. They were all fine except for the 4x4 pages. Since they weren't hard creased wrong I just made a hard crease along the correct edge and used small binder clips to hold it down. When I removed the clips a couple days later the page protectors looked really good. Yes, I agree I shouldn't have had to repair them, but since I live 2 hours from Michael's returning them wasn't an easy option. It was an easy fix and they are usable now.

Return them!
Every time you see them in your stash or in your albums, they will piss you off to no end and you find fault with them.
Do yourself the biggest favor and return them asap.
You should not have to fix a brand new product.

And I also agree that I shouldn't have to fix a brand new product. We all spend a pretty penny, scrapbooking is not a cheap hobby, so these supplies should be of good quality.

I've heard others have had the same problem with those page protectors. FWIW AC is the manufacturer not BH/PL- so they are the ones to complain to/about. Unfortunately for BH when you make this kind of partnership you loose control over quality.
I have tons of PL protectors and cards with no quality or fit issues. I have heard that the first generation of protectors were designed differently than the current ones.
I did have an issue with an AC stamp and they sent me a replacement for free. If you still want to Contact someone contact AC. CA angel

Mine are folded that way too I'll use the binder clip tip. Hope it works for me too. Thanks for the suggestion!

A few people on the main scrapping board suggested I take my problem up with AC directly, soI did email Them about it. They said that it is a known problem and that, if I send them back, they will send me new ones. HOWEVER, I have to pay to ship them there (but she said that they will send me some "special goodies" to compensate me for this), and that they don't expect to receive new ones until sometime in October.
I'm not sure how I feel about this, though. First of all, it's such a pain in the ass to find a box big enough to ship it. And second of all, I know it will cost me a pretty penny to ship them because I do have to get such a big box. Plus, if I end up not liking the products they choose to compensate me with, that's just more money I've wasted.
I will say that they did respond to me right away, and they are trying to make it right. But, at this point, I think it just makes more sense to return them to Michael's and be done with it all. What would you do?

I just purchased some from Amazon and had the same issues. Have not had issues previously. I really think Becky Higgins should make an announcement, recall, or something. It seems like a bad batch was manufactured.

I've had trouble with pockets being different sizes - particularly the design A vertical 3x4 slots. I've had to trim PL brand cards to fit them.

Also...none of my Michaels purchased 12x12 binders came with the page protector (that hard plastic insert to protect the pages from curling). I've emailed BH customer service twice with no response yet.

She no doubt gave up control over some aspects when she partnered with them.

I got my page protectors yesterday. They're not that yellow, especially when something is put in them. Although they smell like vanilla.

I can't offer any help to you. I only bought WeR brand page protectors for PL.
