I only buy TH and brand name stuff at M's with a coupon, and I'm probably not alone in that. Now that they've raised the prices, I will rarely shop there anymore. Easier and cheaper to find what I want online.

I actually find that their prices tend to be better than Hobby Lobby and Joann's.

I saw that too today at Michael's, and I thought that price was ridiculous. I often shop in the Michael's near where I work in Manhattan (NYC), and they don't even honor most of the 40% off coupons. You'll notice that most of them say, "Excludes Manhattan Stores." So I usually use my JoAnn's 40% and 50% off coupons. Is your store walkable from Times Square? I'm going to Nyc in a few weeks and I really want to go to a michaels It's not walkable. You would have to take the subway.

Haven't really shopped much at M's lately. But I noticed th same thing at Joann's rgarding home dec items. MThey have them priced so high you wouldn't ever buy them without a coupn or a big sale. JoAnn's prices took a giant leap. The good consequence for me is it's stopped impulse purchases of seasonal items!

Wow, that is crazy. I find myself buying less and less from Michael's. I also notice policies shifting at Joann. You used to be able to buy Silhouette products (not machines) with coupons. I went to buy a Silhouette blade with a 50% off coupon and they said they changed that policy about a month or so ago. I just put it back. I can buy them online for cheaper or at Hobby Lobby. I bought a blade with a coupon at HL about a month or so ago, so I will just buy my blades there or online from now on.

Just bought single single sheets of paper on sale at Joanns. Thin single sided and didn't realize one was 1.99 vs .79 that all the other similar ones were. Seriously online double sided thick paper is .98 and this was twice that and the thin single sided stuff I noticed done were 1.99 but thought they must be double sided nope just the cheap stuff. So be careful. Obviously not the end of the world to goof on one sheet but still really annoying. They had what looked like a great selection but now I wonder if some of the other sheets I really liked were also 1.99.

do NOT get me started. I headed to the craft stores today and hit up JoAnn's, Michaels, and ACMoore (I don't have a Hobby Lobby or Tuesday Morning in my area unfortunately), and was extremely disappointed my the high prices and markups on everything, PLUS the limited variety. ACMoore was a lot better, but I'm sure if I had spent more time there and more items I would have been disappointed too. Plus their selection for papercrafts was extremely limited. I was so bummed out when I saw the high prices at these stores and I couldn't even find what I was looking for. Their distress inks were extremely high priced and didn't come in individual bottles. No versamagic color inks or the memento inks in individual pads - only the sets. The stamps were honestly all very unappealing. I was totally underwhelmed. The only thing I usually will buy from these stores now are the 12x12 paper pads because I do find that those go on sale - occasionally - for a decent enough price for me to validate purchasing them.

For example, the single sheets of the Shimelle little by little are 1.99 and others like on a whim single sheets. Honestly to me not sure why I should pay 1.99 for a regular single sheet - no gold or anything- just because it is new. But i did not think they were really thin, I thought quality was fine.
