After the discussing the making memories paint I starting thinking about all the products I keep saving for something special. (I'm slowly breaking the mind set)
I had to throw out a product called mud puddles because well I didn't use it and it harden.
Modeling paste is goes funny too if you don't use it. All my distress crackle paint even the unopened kind I had to throw out. My making memories paint too. I loved the red and the green. oh awesome colours.
So as a PSA use up your consumables. Your adhesives, markers, inks, paint, mediums.
I just had to throw away an un opened bottle of zip dry too.

Yes, those items are all "Use 'em or lose 'em".
Add to the list spray mists that reach the bottom third of the bottle. They tend to just dry up from there. And glitter glues.
And I am sure the Nuvo drops we have been collecting will dry up eventually too. So don't save them for something special: get using them!

I can't remember the name, but diamond glaze or something like that. It's the clear stuff you put on paper and it resembles an acrylic embellishment when it dries. No matter of poking a pin in that bottle, got much to come out. The clear liquid turned a yellow tint too.

rub-ons - they don't always hoard well either
Stickers - some hoard nicely, others haven't

What were those clear embellishments called that turned yellow on everyone's pages? I found a pack of those last week. I never could figure out how to use them though, so they were still unopened.
Heidi Swapp's "Ghost" clear stuff was still looking great though!

Don't hoard your OA Sprinkler spray mists. I find the pigment settles and is very hard to shake and mix in (like Grammadee mentioned). And they were my favorite mist but were similar to a chalk when they dried so they really weren't that stable (I could rub them with my finger).

Thickers!! They fell off their backing paper, which means they would have probably fallen off the layouts too.

Rubons! Mine were from around 2004 when rubons were the latest thing so there's probably been some advancements in quality but I found out holding on to old ones was pointless.

Definitely rub-ons. I've had some "go bad" in as little as a year or two after purchasing. My big exception to that are the old making Memories alphas. Mine are still good after all of these years and I still love them!

My Making Memories rub-ons still work perfect!! I know some other ones don't.. but those alphabets that came in a row, about 10 each for each letter. I STILL use those today... (Yeah I have a bunch!!) lol

I'm pretty sure I have a ton of ink pads that are dried out! Check those before chucking them! I have some that are at least 10-15 years old (both dye and pigment inks) and they're still perfect! YMMV.

Heidi Swapp's "Ghost" clear stuff was still looking great though! Those epoxy shapes, like squares, circles, hearts. They were clear with adhesive backing and supposed to look like glass but they turned all yellow and nasty. I threw out a TON of those.

There were also some "rubber charms" I think from Boxer company (?) that were all gooey. I threw away anything that looked like the same material. In fact I remember when they were brand new they seemed kind of gooey on the bottom and I decided not to use them.

I had to shake those things like crazy to get the color re-blended EVERY time I used them. Even if it was one day later, I was shaking those things like a martini. For a long, long time. I finally just got rid of them. Not worth the hassle. Agree about rub-ons. That is a product that sets me up to fail even when they are brand new. I always managed to miss a bit of the section I was using. That and I didn't like that the clear part was generally more shiny than whatever I was putting them on, kind of defeating the point, in my opinion.

I still have old making memories acrylic paints and after a shake or two they work just fine. Not that I have a large stash. Wink. Wink.

My Becky Higgins PL pens dried up within a year. But amazingly my Sakura Micron pens I bought in the 90's still are going strong.

Love my MM rubons! Still work beautifully!) as for the paints, I have heard you can reconstitute it with water (haven't checked my stash of it for a while).
My latest is 2ps flair. Had to toss 50% of it because it's all rusted.

(Yeah I have a bunch!!) lol Mine too. I love those! I bought some stuff that was sand mixed w/some epoxy or something and you spread it on your beachy pages. I made 1 border and 1 embellishment w/the stuff before it dried out. I mean, how much sand can you put even in a vacation album before it loses it's wow factor? So I put it away and when I pulled it out to do the next vacation, it was like cement. Sad. Loved the look. Wonder if anyone still makes it . . .

Heidi Swapp's "Ghost" clear stuff was still looking great though! True. I have several packages in my stash that I never used. I pull them out occasionally but they never seem to make it on to a layout. They still look great, though, so they never get purged.
