Hi everyone!
I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me with:
1) Does anyone have any suggestions for cheap alternatives to distress inks (not the ink pads but the bottles with the daubers)? I found the in store costs to be too high for me and shipping them to me also seems to be quite pricey and I'm on a student budget. I primarily want to use these in my art journal to add a splash of color to the back of my writing. I liked the distress inks because they were vibrant and opaque enough that the color was blatantly obvious but translucent enough that I could write over them and comfortably see/read my writing. Please share your thoughts!
NOTE: I considered watercolors but I don't think they are vibrant enough, especially compared to distress inks, and I'm almost positive my paper will eventually buckle as I try to build up the color to my liking. I've seen acrylics being used in this way too, but the finish doesn't seem to be ideal for writing on and they are too opaque imo. Finally I've seen the crayola method on youtube and while they are easier to write on, they are still very opaque.
2) I'm really struggling to find some affordable stamp sets. I basically use them for my art journaling and the occasional card. I like very cute sets with fun critters or people and lovely sentiments (Wplus9's flower stamps, The Greeting Farm, Clearly Besotted, Mama Elephant, Altenew - some of the brands whose stamp styles I like). I've tried finding second hand options on ebay (surprisingly rather expensive and mostly individual stamps vs sets), craigslist (there are no papercraft sellers in my area sadly :/), and I'm hunting for sets I like on splitcoaststampers market place but everyone is so fast - by the time I message the seller the stamps are already gone. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on where I could find some affordable second hand stamp sets?
NOTE: I have tried to just buy new ones at the store but I found that a lot of them were not to my taste and the variety was very limited.
Thank you so much for all of your help! I look forward to reading your responses!
