i have enough layouts completed that I need to get a couple of albums to put them in. How does everyone do it? Buy what you like when you need it? Buy a bunch all the same and hope it lasts you for life?
I though about going with a black and white theme, but what if I like a blue one later? Just curious of how they will look if stored together in the future. I like a hodgepodge of color. So I may just get what I like when I see it

I just buy what I like when I need a new album. I have mainly kept to one brand in the last few years, in different colors. I actually like having the different colors as I can find the album I am looking for more easily that way, rather than looking through a sea of black books. Yes, they are a bit of a hodgepodge of color on the shelves, but so are all the rest of the books I own.

I get what I like when I see it. I can't be bothered doing all one colour for anything.

I have a bunch of albums waiting that I picked up on sale. I have different colors for different projects. Originally I started out with just pine green but then I got navy, then other colors and now I have many colors.
Maybe if I went back in time I would stock up on the Hiller 8.5x11 albums Michaels used to have. Now scrapbook.com has them under Umbrella Crafts albums. Maybe someday when I'm all done scrapping and I have disposable income I'll buy all new coordinated albums!
Most of mine are either Hiller/Umbrella crafts or WRMK.

I buy a few that I like when they are on sale. I like different patterns, colors so mine are all different. I usually get the binder albums because they hold a lot more. I've never figured out how to extend one of those post bound albums. Not that I've really given it a go... but thats what I do

I stock up when there's a sale, typically, and just get what I like. Like myboysnme, I might bother coordinating them someday, but it's not a priority right now.

I get what I like preferably when they are on sale. I like WRMK and Pioneer albums and get at least 4 at a time. I scrapbook by season, so try to use seasonal colours, but it doesn't always work.

I really dislike buying albums. So when I need more, I wait for a sale and buy 2-4 at a time. I just bought 4 from joanns for 40% off. I use WRMK 12 x 12 ring albums. 40% off isn't the cheapest but they were under $20 each so I am ok with it.

The scrapbook industry is much smaller now. I don't attempt to get the right color of album. I prefer the WRMK 3 ring binders. I am having a difficult time finding a good 8.5x11. I've resorted to buying cheap DCWV binders on clearance.

When I started scrapbooking, I bought all different colored albums. After a few years, I didn't like that. So when I switched to 3-ring albums, I moved them all to black with a few specialty ones in other colors; brown (PL) and red (niece & nephew's bdays). I'm much happier now. Vanilla is my middle name. lol

When I started out, I tried to buy my 12x12s only in black. Unfortunately, I sometimes have trouble differentiating navy from black, so I ended up with a mix. I use a different style now as the ones I used to buy are no longer available, and I still accidentally end up with a navy here and there mixed in with the black. It's fine. It's kind of funny! (I was one of those women at work with one black and one navy shoe too) I wanted my middle name to be vanilla, but ended up cookie dough

I don't bother with matching colours. I started out with CM A4 albums many years ago and stocked up on a few when they were on their way out. Still have a couple left and will use those for vacations. Now I buy the SC or ABM 9x12 albums and Page protectors when they're on sale because I really like the size.

It is the one that used to be sold at Michaels as Hiller/Living Oak. The reason I like it better than WRMK is it holds a few more pages and is a bit sturdier. I just ordered 2 today because they are on sale. Are you familiar with them? I have many many WRMK but I stuff them so full I need that little bit extra that I get from the Umbrella Crafts.

thanks for the reviews of the Umbrella albums. I did use to buy the hiller ones, and was sad when they were discontinued. I did always like them a bit better than the WRMK albums. I have been struggling to find the WRMK albums anymore...so I am super glad to hear that the umbrella ones are great!

I buy Navy for one kid, red for the other. The other vacation albums vary. I have a few old Creative Memories albums that are in page protectors that I hate, but the albums are so sturdy, I just kept them. Mine all vary a little, but almost all of them are solid colors.

Thanks for all the answers. Hodgepodge for the win! My LSS just got some new WRMK albums in and I might check them out.

I think they were sold through Keeping Memories Alive and then if I remember right they became Creative Express? I also bought some at a Scrapbook Expo several years ago and they are sturdier than WRMK. I'll watch scrapbook.com closer.

I have been buying CTMH post bound albums on Ebay when I can find them in a hodge podge collection of colors. I do not like the WRMK 3-ring, they are so bulky. Even so, I have bought many of them in different colors.

When I first started scrapbooking I exclusively used Creative Memories strap hinge albums. After that I moved on to post bound albums. Now, I buy the binder style albums. There is no hope my albums will ever match. I worked at a LSS for a short time, and the owner stocked really lovely albums, so I bought several during the time that I worked there...some post bound, some AC fabric covered binder albums, and some WRMK leather albums. I don't mind the hodgepodge look on my shelf. I do try to match my albums for different volumes of specific projects. If one year or one trip spans more than one album, I like to make them match.
I find that my layouts get wrecked if they are not in albums, so I do my best to make sure that I have space in my albums/enough albums for the projects I'm working on. Now that I've worked through most of my album stash I buy them as I need them.

I buy WRMK faux leather 3-ring albums when I find them at a low price.
I have a huge mishmash of colors, and like them that way.

All of mine are WeR in the Aqua. I've been buying this color for years. It goes perfect in my scrapbook room.

I buy what I like and will buy a few at a time if I see them on sale. I actually like the look of a lot of different albums on my shelf rather than all matching. I've converted to binder style now but did keep 3 of my prettiest post bound albums. Variety is the spice of life!
