This card was so much fun to make. Have y'all made one of these before. I know they've been popular for awhile...I'm just late to the trend. hahaha!!

So.. I'm trying this, but using my Silhouette. I've got the box and patterned paper done today, and left a couple of embellishments to dry overnight. I had to stop as it was getting dark, and I was absolutely shattered with all the moving around.
I am impressed I drew the shape for cutting - and that it's as near as I'd ever get, probably better than with a paper trimmer.
Might be finished tomorrow and I'll share my success - or failure!

Pretty card! I have a great paper trimmer and scoring boards so I'm doing fine making my bases. I figure I saved $30 not buying the Lawn Fawn die. I'd love it for the tiny stitched boxes that come with it but I decided to just make do. I made my first ones a few weeks ago and made another one this morning and got it to the post office just in time!
I found the instructions at Split Coast Stampers and used the A2 dimensions. I changed it up some because it is silly to waste paper after cutting out the base and then cutting a strip off the side to use for the inside strips. I use scraps and not necessarily the same color as the base. I did the taller version like you did but think I like the wider version better.
To make it easy for me, I made a sample base of each style I wanted and then wrote the size to cut and where the score lines go with a marker. It is wonderful to have the sample base sitting there with all the information I need. I've also started making several bases at the same time so that I have them ready to go.
You "have" to use cardstock 12 inches long in the wider version but I improvised this morning because I wanted to use a particular turquoise cardstock and use the wider version. Instead of the tab, I used acid free tape to tape it together from the inside so I could just cut 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock in half for the base. I have two different little nested dies that I can use to cut the little rectangle shapes to decorate. One has a scalloped edge and the other has a deckle edge.
