My son is getting married in April, and I'm wearing a navy, beaded, sleeveless dress I got a little navy lace, 3/4 sleeve jacket from Etsy (woman in Ukraine makes them) and I made a satin, appliqué belt. Good luck with your son's wedding - your dress looks pretty!

That one IS pretty! If I wasn't all set for my son's wedding in April, I would have bought it myself!

I think that dress looks great! If you are self conscious about your arms, wear something to cover. If not, don't. Don't wear something just because you think you have to. It's not like you're wearing a mini skirt or showing too much cleavage. I find that many shrugs take away from the beauty of a dress. Do what makes you comfortable, so you can enjoy the day.

Your dress looks beautiful. If you are uncomfortable with the sleeves maybe you could have some material added for a little loose shear sleeve?
Also - just a word about ordering from JJs House, the dresses are shipped from China and do not always appear as they do online! We had experience with them when ordering Brides maid gowns! Quality is cheap for the price you pay and the color doesnt' always match what you see online either!

Thanks for the input. I'm still mulling over the sleeveless part. Maybe I'm harder on myself than I should be. Or not. I think the most important thing is what you're comfortable in. I have scrawny old-lady arms with arm-flap and the wrap would make me feel comfortable enough, I think. Can you try the dress on with a wrap similar to what you would have made, and see how it looks/feels?

I tried on another dress that had a little matching wrap and it was nice but I like this dress better.

Are you near a Dillard's store? My sister and I both had good luck there for MOB and MOG dresses.

That dress is nice. Thanks for that website. I am not finding what I want locally so I may try them. Did you notice that each dress is custom-made to their customers measurements? I thought that was really interesting. I read the reviews for this dress and it sounds like they have satisfied customers for quality, fit, and fast delivery. Not an endorsement since I've never ordered from them... just what I read on their site. Oh please check out this website through Google for more reviews. I very nearly bought my wedding dress from them as the reviews ON THEIR SITE were so good. Then I googled them elsewhere- absolute nightmarish stories of ill fitting dresses, cheap material and lots of photos of unwearable dresses. And apparently it was very difficult to get your money returned, they offered a partial discount on your NEXT item! There was also lots of people saying that they dresses pictured on their website were stolen from other designers. When I tried to click on your link it came up with a dangerous site block. Yes there are good reviews but they were rare and suspiciously over the top wonderful. Corinne ( I'm talking about JJ' house)

I think that dress is very pretty. I bought a MoB dress from Nordstrom's, but my younger daughter was in a wedding party this past fall that ordered bridesmaid dresses from the Etsy store, "Evdress." The dresses are made in China, and she had to supply measurements rather than ordering a size, but it turned out fine with quality fabrics. The dresses were ordered four months in advance.

Are you near a Dillard's store? My sister and I both had good luck there for MOB and MOG dresses. I am but I didn't see anything that looked good on me except my dress but they didn't have my size so I bought it at Belk. The Nordstrom near me had nothing in the store for evening.

I just got back from living in Hong Kong and had a lot of clothes made in Shenzhen, China about an hour away. As you say, it's a hit or miss proposition. You can take a photo of something you like and they will copy it and even choose the fabric but there are good and bad tailors. I finally found a tailor I would trust, but I really need to see it on me. The construction would be good but the wrong style can make me look dumpy.
