I know some of you have followed my dd's rather untraditional path over the the years. Today, she was given control of the ballet company's Instagram account to illustrate a small taste of a typical day in her life as a trainee. BalletMet Instagram
Can't figure out how to get the image to show up here, so you'll have to just go to Instagram. If you have the app, she's also been taking some live videos during the day. There's a clip of her dancing alone in a black leo and a black and red skirt. |

I was only able to see the picture, can't figure out how to get the videos. But I don't have instagram, maybe that's why. But it's a beautiful picture on the link!

Love the photos! I'm going to have to share this with my ballerina! She's currently at dress/tech rehearsal for Cinderella this weekend. I don't know that she'll ever dance professionally, but she has one student at her studio that is joining the Boston (  ) Ballet after this school year and I know she's curious about what that will be like for her. |

Oh my!! How beautiful! I don't know anything about ballet, but I loved seeing how they work, and how much they must love it to work that hard. Thanks for sharing. I have followed your daughter's journey and your's too, working on all of the costumes. Your heart must burst when you watch her dance.

How cool! I have danced most of my life, had 4 hours of class/rehearsal yesterday. Just recreational but it is so fun! I wish my daughter was more interested in dance. She did a few years and then stopped. But she is still young (7) so there is time!

Absolutely beautiful! I know you are so very proud, Melissa.
My girls are dancers and they work their butts off! They do not have professional aspirations but they do enjoy moving their bodies and the sisterhood dance has given them. It is amazing just how athletic dancers really are. They could (and usually do) run circles around the other athletic teams in school due to the sheer amount of training they have to do year-round compared to the other programs.

She was just about to turn 2 when 2Peas started and she just turned 20. Crazy, right?
To see the day in the life videos, you need to be looking on the app on a mobile device. There are little round circles at the top with people's "stories." Those disappear after a period of time.
She had a blast doing the Instagram takeover and it seems very well received. She may do another day later in the spring behind the scenes from a company performance.

How is she liking Columbus? I lived there for several years and am only a couple of hours south now. Meant to answer this earlier. I think she's finally gotten used to Columbus. She lives downtown and it's not really a very walkable city with frequent mass transportation, so that was quite a bit of an adjustment from NYC. Despite growing up in the suburbs in a quasi-rural neighborhood, she is a city mouse at heart. She's found all the little quirky local places to eat which helped a bunch too. |
