Do any of you have any good ideas on how to make something like a master file that would show all the images and phrases on the cartridges you own? I want to make a 3 ring binder of images that I can flip through when I'm browsing for images. It's quite time consuming to flip through all the little booklets.

Did you want pictures of things, or words telling what is on each cartridge?

Long ago I went to the Cricut website and downloaded the sample sheets and handbooks in pdf form for the cartridges I or my friends had. I don't know if this option is available anymore, though. I quit their website and message board when they sued the SCAL guy. IMO the cricut software is horrible. SCAL is the only thing that keeps me from ditching cricut and getting a silhouette.
ETA: Looking at my Cricut directory and the pdf's I downloaded, they're from 2009 and 2010. That may be the last time I bought a cartridge!

Why not just log onto Design Space? If you click on My Images, you can scroll through everything you own, either by images or by cartridge, with pics,in color. You don't need an Explore to get a Design Space account, but you will need to have linked your cartridges to your account to see them on there.

That's what I do - alternatively, you can go to www.mycutsearch.com/ which shows the image on the handbook page. Its much nicer to use Design space (I only use it to search images, not to design or cut)....go here: us.cricut.com/design#/newlanding

Oh, I didn't realize there was a way to do that on their website. I knew you could connect with the Explore. I have a cable to connect my Expression to the computer, I just thought you had to pay for a membership, and I already paid a ton for my cartridges. What is SCAL?

Cricut design studio requires the new cricut explore machine (so your expression won't work) to cut...but you can go into the software and look at all the images (which is what I do). If you have your carts linked into their system, then you can search YOUR images...if not, then you just look for the carts you own and look at the images.
They also have Cricut Craft Room, which also runs on-line...which will connect to your expression via the computer, but its not as convenient to look for images.
Not 100% sure, but I think that if you have ever updated your expression, it won't work with SCAL

I don't know what SCAL is anyway. I did have to update my Expression in order to link my cartridges. You are right, I couldn't link up my cartridges through Design Space, but I was able to successfully do it thru Cricut Craftroom. Since I don't know any better about DS, CCR seems like it works great for me. I will probably still find a way to make a binder file and do it in color, since the images in CCR are all black and white.

I stopped looking through my booklets for something and just use my tablet to search on MyCutSearch.com. So easy and it tells you what page it is on.

I used the Cricut website to get most of the images. I hardly ever use the book anymore. I have about 135 cartridges and it is just too much.

I downloaded the PDFs from the cricut website, then printed 6 handbook pages per 8.5x11 page in landscape format. I also go to Cricut Craftroom and search images there as well.
