I figured if anyone can help, it would be the peas. My husband and I have been to WDW a number of times. On our recent trip, we completed the Princess half. After coming home, I took a look and saw that there were still bibs for the Tinker Bell half. Surprisingly, my DH said to sign us up.
We have never been to DL before and this could be our only trip. I have known about Club 33 for a long time and I know we'll likely never get to go. That said, I would love to be able to surprise my husband with this. He does so much for me, I'd just love to pull off an impossible surprise for him. I have seen sometimes there's charity auctions, etc. Being that I'm not local, the odds of me happening upon this is virtually impossible. Does anyone have any other ideas? I want to be clear, I'm not looking for our meal to be paid, just access. If we dine with someone, I'd expect to pay their way as well.
Thanks!

My daughetr tells me it is like $10000, possibly $15000 a year with a long waiting list. In addition, the initiation fee is $25,000. She says people do post on Craigslist to try to get an invite from a member because that is the only way you can get in without a membership. It will be fun to see if anyone on here is a member or know of one. I know it was fun looking up at the people and wondering who they were and how they got in when we were at DL

Disney has changed their Club 33 memberships perks in the last few years. It is even more difficult for a non-member to be able to have a member make reservations for them. I know that even platinum member no longer get that perk. I would recommend you make lunch or dinner reservations at the Blue Bayou. It is next to Club 33 and inside Pirates of the Carribean. Not the same, I know...but still pretty fun

We will only be there 5 nights Thursday-Tuesday and it so happens that Monday will be our Anniversary. What would you recommend for the nicest place to have dinner? I'm actually open for any other DL suggestions you might have. As a WDW vet, I'm a bit out of my element

Definitely do go to Blue Bayou. We prefer it for lunch as it is a welcome break from the hullabaloo in the parks. I haven't done DL (on my way to WDW on Wednesday) in about 7 or so years, and I'd imagine a lot has changed. When we've stayed at the Grand Californian there were a couple of nicer restaurants in there. I wish I could recall the name of the one we particularly liked.... If you google the hotel it should come up. Also, don't forget to check out restaurants at DtD. Unlike at WDW, DtD is right outside the parks, easy peasy.

We are annual pass holders and we've been to Blue Bayou twice. Our first trip and then when we took my parents because my dad remembered it and wanted to go. Totally underwhelmed by the food. Ambiance is great, but the food isn't very good, especially for the price.
Our favorite is Carthay Circle over at California Adventure. Fantastic food, very classy, amazing cocktails (no alcohol in Disneyland, but there is alcohol in California adventure), and great service. We go at least once every time we go. Pricey, but worth every penny.
We haven't been, but I have heard amazing things about the Napa Rose at the Grand Californian hotel. I believe it's adult only (hence not getting a chance to go).
We also like Catal and Ralph Brennan Jazz Kitchen in downtown Disney. We've done breakfast and dinner at Coastal, both were fantastic!
I haven't done the Disneyworld races, but we've done star wars and Avengers at Disneyland and it is insane. Super crowded!! If you can, go to the expo as early as possible. They have some awesome Disney official race stuff in the expo and at star wars this year we didn't get to go because there were literally hundreds of people in line to get into the tent. And they sold out of what I really wanted (the star wars running shoe ornament) The first day of the expo, so go Thursday!. The wait to shop was over an hour, we have three little kids and there was nothing we needed that badly. The week days shouldn't be too bad, but be prepared for craziness on the weekend. You will definitely need to make dining reservations asap!!!
Please ask any other questions!! We love doing the races!
We usually go for 3-5 days at a time when we go, home is northern California. I always book at least one sit down meal a day in advance, you can make reservations over the phone or online 60 days in advance. The last couple times we've gone they've been so busy that if you haven't made a reservation you can't get a table at any of the sit down restaurants.

We were just at Disneyland to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday. We had lunch at Carthay Circle in California Adventure and it was wonderful. We also had dinner one night at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, so much fun and very good food as well.
However we did go to Club 33. It was spectacular. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. They treated our daughter like a queen and gave her a card signed by the staff, a special dessert and a bag with macarons and special chocolates. We were able to go because of a contact that my husband has but I know they will only do this for people they know fairly well.
As said above, Carthay Circle was very good! I would go there again in a heartbeat. We didn't eat at Napa Rose at the Grand Californian but heard very good things about that restaurant as well.

Our next door neighbor has Club 33 membership - he has it as a write off for his business. It used to be that they didn't have to go with the guests, but I think that changed. I know you now have to buy admission AND pay for the meal (lunch or dinner) - used to be if you were at Club 33 for the meal, they'd give you the park pass.
We've got a standing offer and have never gone LOL I guess one day we'll have to go.

There's a nice steak house in the Disneyland hotel that my sister likes. I've never been to club 33, my sister has, she's lucky, her lawyer's brother's doctor made her a reservation. I couldn't believe someone so removed from her would be willing to, but I guess it can't hurt to ask! Good luck! While you're at it ask for a reservation for me too ;-)

We've eaten at Napa Rose and Steakhouse 55 and they were both very good. It's been a while though.

Yes, Napa Rose is the one I was trying to think of! We've been (I think) 3 times and enjoyed ourselves fully. Sorry about apparently steering you wrong on Blue Bayou. We used to visit DL every year or so from about 1994-2009-ish, but it's been 7 years since I've been and clearly a lot has changed. It was one of their sandwiches that brought us in for lunch time and again. Well that, and the ambiance. It's just such a completely different feel than what's going on right outside the door I kinda wish I was going to DL instead of WDW, it's just such an easier place to be...and well....it's the original. Have fun planning!

I love BB for lunch. And, if you get a table closer to the water the ambiance is very nice. But, there are a lot of tables near the entrance or along the back row that aren't so great. I wouldn't go there for an anniversary special meal. I would pick Napa Rose, Carthay or Steakhouse 55.
A number of years ago a pea had an in for reservations at Club 33. She took about 8 of us. It was really nice. I am not sure I really appreciated how special it was at the time. I don't believe she's a pea anymore and can't remember her connection.

MAJOR Disneyland lover here (I actually have a vintage Disneyland room in my house) and have been trying to go myself for years! We had our honeymoon there. I only know people who have known people unfortunately! One day I hope! I remember threads in past years talking about this very thing. Good luck!

Napa Rose is fabulous. We ate at the chef's counter and had lots of fun interacting with the chefs in the kitchen. Carthay Circle is lovely as well. It was quiet on one of our trips and our server filled us in on lots of tidbits about which celebrities come in and are the most fun.

The www.disneyfoodblog.com/ has lots of reviews. The Blue Bayou is a good option Cafe Orleans-- You can get the same Monte Cristo sandwich that BB sells. The Carnation Cafe is a good option as well. The Plaza Cafe has the best fried chicken ever! **Make sure you make reservations as it will be crazy busy that weekend because of the marathon, and Mother's Day Weekend.** I have heard good things about Steakhouse 55 and Napa Rose You might also want check the weather and pack some ponchos for the Tinkerbell Half. It usually rains that weekend--well at least for the last two years it has. We do the Tinkerbell 5K every year.

When I was in high school I worked at Disneyland (Carnation Plaza Gardens) and my boyfriend worked at Club 33. When he'd stop by to visit me in his tuxedo all the girls would swoon a little. Good memories.
