Colored pencil classes

Can anyone recommend a basic online class, video, tutorial or anything else that would help with learning how to make my stamped images not look so flat when I color them in with colored pencils?  I can't seem to grasp the whole shading thing so I need step-by-step instruction as I don't have an art background and none of this comes naturally to me.
