I just woke up from a doozy, and was so glad to hear my alarm sound.
Do you, as an adult, still get nightmares or bad dreams?

Yes and some of them are quite weird.

Yes I have lots of violent and scary dreams. In the most recent one that I posted about here a couple of weeks ago, DD and I killed a woman who was attacking us, and we had to hide her body so her partner wouldn't find out and kill us. I've seen my brother's best mate have his head split open by an axe in a dream. I have a lot of dreams where I am being chased by someone. I've been shot in a dream. Sometimes I wake up in fright and when I drift off to sleep again the dream continues where it left off.

Oh yes! I have some real doozeys sometime and they are so vivid. I avoid going back to sleep if I can because my dream has a tendency to continue.

Occassionally. I have to turn on my lights and can't sleep for a while. But, later, in the light of day when I think about them--they're so silly. Seriously--like crazy monkeys chasing me through school. Or a man in the refrigerator. But in the middle of the night, they can be terrifying.

Yes, especially if I get too warm while I'm sleeping. They are very vivid and often stick with me for a while after I wake up. Heaven help DH if he's done something awful during one of my dreams. I'll be ticked at him until I snap out of the funk from the dream.

Yes. I often have to nap in the daytime to make up for the interrupted/little nighttime sleep.

I have very vivid dreams and often don't get good sleep because of it. Some dreams are quite frightening and realistic. I still recall a dream where my son was hanging from his hood from a neighbor's garage roof and I was just screaming and screaming with no sound. My son was a child in the dream but grown in real life.
My worst ones are when I am desperately trying to call 911 and I keep hitting the wrong buttons.

I had a really bad dream the other night, I walked out of the changing rooms at the swimming baths looked down and there was hair sprouting out of my swimming costume EVERYWHERE. I mean it was like the worst bikini line you can imagine!
I often have scary dreams but thankfully don't remember much about them, it's more a feeling of intense fear when I wake up.

I have horrible dreams, usually about something I've talked about during the day, and then my mind puts a scary twist on it.
I also have a recurring dream several nights a week. My house with my 1st husband/kids dad, our bathroom, covered in yuck (he has 3 teenaged sons now) and I'm trying to shower and get clean and everything I touch is disgusting and grimy.
I always wake up from that one so grateful for my clean bathroom.

I have nightmares about my ex a lot. Usually he's trying to hurt or kill me, or at the very least trying to control me. He was an abusive alcoholic and I have lived those nightmares long enough. Happy to wake up and know he's gone from my life!

Yes. A lot of them have to do with people breaking into the house I am in in my dream. No idea why, other than I watch a lot of police dramas. LOL

yes! often the same "theme". i am in an industrial area, warehouse, castle, half built construction site, etc, i am being chased (usually be a group of bad people) and usually i am with others, also running for their lives/hiding. they seem so real and feel like they are going on forever.
sometimes i wake up, i am so relieved it's a dream and then fall back to sleep, into the same dream. luckily it doesn't seem so intense the second time.
i also have the one where someone breaks into my house and i am trying to call 911 but nothing comes out or i can't punch the numbers properly.

My worst ones are when I am desperately trying to call 911 and I keep hitting the wrong buttons. Oh my gosh!!! I have these, too!!! It's so frustrating!!! Sometimes it's a different number, but I never can dial it right.

Sometimes it's a different number, but I never can dial it right. Same here! Not always the emergency number (000 here) but any number. Just can't press the right numbers so I try to do it slower but it still won't go through. Very frustrating. I also have dreams where I try to scream but it doesn't come out. So I try and scream a little "softer" but it' still won't come out. I hate those dreams!

I do make a funny humming sound with my mouth closed(IRL...DH hears it, and wakes me up.), when trying to scream in my dreams. I usually end up throwing up in my moth a little (In the dream), because I can't scream, and I'm so scared.

Sometimes. Not often thank goodness. Mine usually involve serial killers or a massacre situation.

My dreams are usually more bizarre than frightening. My husband on the other hand has nightmares that he reacts to with screaming and sometimes punching and/or kicking. Just last night he had one and sat straight up in bed yelling, "watch out!" I heard him from the other room because we don't sleep in the same bed anymore, it isn't safe! Usually when has these dreams he is extremely stressed out about something. Last night's dream seems to have been triggered by the interstate overpass collapsing here because in his dream he was driving down the interstate on his way to work and there was danger. Poor cat was sleeping with him and she flew out of the bedroom with a fluffed out tail!

Am I strange because I rarely remember a dream. What I do remember are what I call "one of those" dreams - like when dd lost her cell phone, I dreamed it was in the door pocket in my car. She said it wouldn't be there because she never sat in that seat. She checked, found phone. Happens every once in a while.

Yes, I have nightmares. More frequently though I have dreams where I'm annoyed. Stuff like I'm trying to get somewhere and things just keep coming up and I can't get out the door.
