Last night I made chicken teriyaki bowl rather than takeout, because I'm seeing Beauty and the Beast late this afternoon with my son's girlfriend and my best friend. I have a feeling ds will end up coming w/us, too. So, tonight I have a bunch of leftovers. I'm really looking fwd to the movie. The original was done so well. The ballroom scene was beautiful.
What's on your menu?
Have a delightful Tuesday.

I have my cousin staying with me for a couple of days and we have been walking around Munich for most of the day. The weather has not been brilliant, but we just dashed into churches when the rain got to much for us. Tomorrow looks like it will be a better day, so we will head out again. We went shopping on the way home, so we will be having streaks on the grill and a big mixed salad.

We still have leftovers from yesterday, since I am slow to get back to eating. (It just took me an hour to choke down a package of peanut butter crackers!) So, more chicken and I will probably throw the potatoes in the oven to help them out. We don't like them leftover, so they need something!

It's Tuesday, so tacos for us. Plus I will have taco dip. I prepped everything last night, so all I have to do is warm the taco meat (that was from freezer) and slop the dip on a platter and dress it up. SO and I have a couples meeting at 5:30, so won't probably eat until after. This makes an easy, quick meal.
This is it for my meal planning for the week. Now I will have to think of something tomorrow and go to store then...BOO!
Enjoy Beauty and the Beast. It does look like a good one to see.

DS cooked today! Chicken (he added spices, but I couldn't identify any except the garlic), rice and he found to tins with vegetables in the pantry (baby corn and ratatouille), so it was both healthy and filling, and I didn't have to cook! Can you tell I'm happy? And strawberries, blueberries and icecream for dessert, since DS will have surgery in three weeks and the poor kid is nervous about it (got the date for the surgery today).

I used to post to this thread, *always* read it, and am vowing to participate more. So, tonight is Pepperoni Chicken, spaghetti noodles and roasted broccoli. My sons love this dish, and it's so easy.

My boyfriend is a firefighter and he goes in this evening for a 24 hr shift. When he works, I usually do takeout or something easy at home.

I just read the thread to get some ideas before going to the grocery store - I am still in my nightgown. I have a half of a summer sausage roll to use up and might use PW's Pepperoni Chicken (altered slightly) that jassy posted. Or something with rice and spinach combined as I have both to use up. Of course, all of that involves putting on pants to go out in public. Thanks for the thread. Off to find something to wear.

I'm planning on eating leftover chicken and potato salad with my mom. She's not feeling well, though, so that may be disrupted with a trip to the doctor's office.

We're having baked chicken, mashed cauliflower and roasted Brussels sprouts.
It's a pretty easy meal with little prep. I need easy today. I was going to go to bed early last night after suffering a headache all day. Oh, no. That was not to be. Our little Basenji mix Tripp got his ear tangled up with the sharp puppy teeth of Shiloh and ripped a tear from the tip about 1/4 inch down. He didn't even yelp, so we didn't know there was an injury until DD started screaming about him having blood all over his head. You know how head injuries in humans bleed a lot? Let me assure you, the same is true for dogs.
It took some time before we could actually determine where the blood was coming from. All the while, he's shaking his head and flinging blood EVERYWHERE. I'm not kidding, the house looked like a crime scene. There was blood splatter on both walls in the stairwell, on every cabinet in the kitchen, and on all of us. We tried everything we could think of to stop the bleeding - cornstarch, liquid bandage, everything. But as soon as we would get it stopped, he'd wriggle free and start shaking his head again. We called the emergency vet and they said to bring him in as he might require stitches. Turns out, they used liquid skin and wrapped the tip tightly then put the cone of shame around his neck. He has been so miserable today with that thing. We have to keep the dogs separated too, and they are missing each other.
But I did learn that there were a couple of jobs I'd be no good at - forensic crimes clean-up unit because of all the massive cleaning. And serial killer because of all the massive cleaning that would need to be done to avoid detection.
In the end, I got to bed about 2 hours after my regular bedtime instead of an hour early like I'd planned.

@nicksmom, I'm torn about your post. I'm really sad that your doggie is injured and has to wear the cone of shame; however, I'm relieved that you've taken serial killing off of your to-do list.

Good Morning.
My dh made it home last night and so I guess I have to do some real cooking! I am thawing a turkey breast and I am thinking of roasting some carrots and cauliflower (neither do I have) So I guess a trip to the store is in order.
scrapmaven Have fun at the movie. We want to see it as well, just haven't had the chance yet.
KelleeM Your dh REALLY likes that Chinese pie doesn't he!!!
@nicksmom that sounds like an awful evening! Poor pup, and poor you to have to clean all that up.
Thanks for all the advice yesterday about Kaitlyn going to prom. She still hasn't decided. I will let you know what she decides.
On another note...my sons fiancée asked Kaitlyn to be one of her bridesmaids this coming July. So, if she decides not to go to prom she still will have the opportunity to get all dressed up. I know it's not the same but it is something.

Welcome jassy! @nicksmom - we have had some similar crime scenes with our pup since we got her. Both for paw injuries. I will admit the cleanup was not as bad as your sounds, but we did have blood all over the floors and carpet. Fun times. LOL

We're having ribs tonight ~ maybe. DH admitted he's had a bad toothache for a couple of days so I made him go to the dentist. Sounds like a probable root canal. MEN ~ why don't the call when they have symptoms or bad pain? I went to Zumba this morning and they surprised me with a potted plant of tulips and a beautiful card that many of them signed ~ made me cry when I read it after I got home. Gonna miss that group.

A truly beautiful day here. I've been working a bit in the garden and reading outside. While I relax, DH is back to work for the first day since his neck surgery a month ago. I haven't heard from him all day, so I hope that means things are going well. I'm sure he'll be exhausted when he gets home. Mentally, he's ready to return to work, but physically he's still recovering.
Dinner will be corn on the cob, roasted broccoli, and either turkey breast or leftover cottage pie. I'm waiting to see if he's ready for a nap or ready to eat when he gets home.
@nicksmom, I shuddered a bit reading your post. Hoping today is a bit more peaceful at your house.

It turns out the dentist couldn't find anything. She said it could be a sinus problem and to try SineAid. I'm thinking if it is sinus he should probably see his doctor. Yes, my Zumba gals ~ and a couple of guys ~ are awesome. I'm going to miss them.

Nicksmom, I shuddered a bit reading your post. Hoping today is a bit more peaceful at your house. We've put up a baby gate to keep Shiloh downstairs and Tripp upstairs. They have lain on either side, facing each other and whining all morning. It's really pitiful. But she's still a puppy (albeit a big one!) and we know she wouldn't leave his collar and ear alone. So until the collar comes off on Friday, they'll be apart. And they are NOT liking it. Save

Now that dd#1 is back from Europe I thought I'd be nice and cook something that I know she will like (she worked last night so wasn't home for dinner) ... her choice was spaghetti I make mine with fresh local sausage ... a combination of spicy and mild ... in a red sauce of course ... Dd#1 invited her boyfriend to join us but he swims first so dinner might be a bit late ... he's only in grade 12 but is a competitive swimmer with the university ... she loves to brag to her friends that he has an "8-pack"

We still haven't seen Beauty & the Beast yet. I heard it's really good.
I promised dd#2 we'd make pierogies tonight. I still need to peel potatoes & stew some prunes. My sisters make them all the time but I haven't in years. I hope they turn out.

I found a couple of ancient packages of chuck roast in the freezer (I don't really want to say how old) so I decided to make a big batch of Italian beef. I'll give my sister some and freeze some. Then it turned out one of the chuck roasts was actually brisket. I guess that will be okay for Italian beef. I dunno. So I looked more closely at the packages and they were both from Costco, which is more expensive for meat than my local supermarket on sale. So now I not only can't tell you how old the meat is, I also don't want to say how much I spent on it. Holy hell, is all I'm willing to say. That Italian beef better be good. I'll make mashed potatoes (because I'm too lazy to go to the store for rolls) and mixed veggies to go with it.

The baby went home early. Husband is having leftover meatloaf. I am making a salad of sorts! Seedless cucumbers, sweet onion, tomatoes, feta and kalamata olives in a lemon vinaigrette with some toasted ciabatta bread.
