So I keep looking at these brushes and wanting them, but I've got tons of questions. Has anyone tried them that might be able to give feedback on what they think or answer a few questions, pretty please? Claritystamp BrushesJen McGuire has them in some of her card videos, but she's got a whole pot full of them that seem color-dedicated and it doesn't look like she washes them out. Since I'm not a stamping goddess, I'm really sure I'll be sticking to one set of 4 brushes. Do they wash up well so colors don't transfer? Do they lose bristles/shed? Do they dry nicely and keep their shape without a lot of fuss? And...do they really work as great in person as they look in everyone's videos? If you don't have them, is there another type of brush you use? I mostly want them for ombre effect. Most of the stencil brushes I've looked at are natural fibers, not synthetic, and they have the flat tops, not the layered bristles. I've seen some Tonic ones online, but never in person, and I don't know if they'd work for that ombre-ink effect. Our local big boxes have nothing except the traditional flat stompers. I'd be grateful for your thoughts!

I only have 4. I have not washed them. I just use one for blue/green, red, brown and lighter colours. I just brush the colour off. They don't shed.
They are like nothing I have seen. I went to the art store looking for a comparable and have found nothing.
Finally they are becoming available in Canada so they are reasonable for me to get another 4. I think I can get by with 8.
Sorry I can't answer about washing them.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. It was an investment on a tight budget but I'm not regretting it. This is the video that convinced me to buy them: www.facebook.com/stampinsteve/videos/1654224701259964/I will not need more than 4. I have 1 dedicated to yellow, and 2 that are multi colour and I haven't touched the biggest one. I did wash one. No issues at all (except you have to let it fully dry before using it again or you get streaks. Obviously. A "duh" moment for me!). To clean them, I'm just brushing them off on scrap paper, not washing them anymore. They keep their shape no problem and I haven't lost a single hair. As for use, I'm a total spaz with mixed media but this is what I created on my very first attempt with them, just playing with colours and 1 stencil: and this was my 2nd creation:

I was wondering if makeup brushes would do the same thing, cheaper. I was a Marshall's yesterday and a pack of 3 puffy (is that the right word) make-up brushes was $6.99 on the clearance. Has anyone tried them?

That video was really helpful. Seeing how easily the ink brushed off between colors really helped. Thanks!

The stencil brushes are pretty rigid. The difference between the clarity brushes and "regular" (blunt end) stencil brushes is that the tips are tapered in a more normal brush look, and this lets you both stipple and stroke. Makeup brushes would be too soft I think.

These things have been on my wish list forever but I am having a really hard time justifying the cost. I recently bought a pack of the Nuvo Dual Tipped Blender Brush in the hopes that they would be the same. I haven't used them yet, but FYI, the bristles are much harder and I think that in the end I will eventually pick up at least one package of the Claritystamp brushes.

Not scrappington, but Hallmark Scrapbook.com has them for the cheapest price, I have seen them at. I've had excellent service there. But they are located on the west coast so shipping is fast and reasonable for me.

Ok I'm seriously tempted but will have to resist for now since I'm frozen. I also need to use my blending tool more!

The brushes give you more control. They are really different from the blending foams/tools. No hard edges. Easy to get through a stencil. Easy to layer colours without making them "muddy" (like, you can layer red over green without creating brown...). The foams are one of the reasons I didn't use my inks enough...I'm klutzy and couldn't control the edges well. I also love that you can use the brushes with all your inks (I've been using my hero arts die inks more too!)

These brushes are much larger than I expected. I thought they looked huge. I found a wash brush at JoAnns for $4 with coupon that had a layered tip and medium stiff bristle (feels natural, doesn't say on the brush), and it's working pretty well. No one says they have trouble controlling the Clarity brushes though, so I'm guessing that's really not a problem. I figured if I did, this gives me one back-up for tight spots.

Finally bought some from Simon says Stamp. I really like them. I haven't washed them yet. I used similar blue distress inks. They are big.

I really have to stop looking at this thread... these brushes were on my wish list, I took them off because I couldn't justify the cost, and now they are back on!
