Hijacking and pulling this to the top again to ask a question. My PictureMate PM 225 is dying. I have gotten a ton of use out of it and can't live without a photo printer anymore even though I have my big printer. I was going to buy the 225 again as that is really all I need, but I found out that it has been discontinued. Even though Amazon has them in stock, I have to wonder how long I could get ink cartridges/paper for it with it being discontinued. So I decided to buy the 400 but I have a question...can you use any photo paper in it or is there a special paper for it like the 225? It looks like they sell an ink cartridge for it and then a package with ink and paper? But I would just buy the ink cartridge if I can use any paper.

I've used: Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II Strathmore Digital Photo Paper Kodak Ultimate Picture Paper Epson Glossy Epson Soft Gloss I mostly buy these in the 4x6 size. They all work great. I've used HP the most because I often find it on sale. I use Canon paper because that's what my DH uses in his Canon photo printer. He buys 8x10, so I trim it to 5x7. I don't print 5x7 a lot, but love that this printer has that option. Oops - Edited to add HP Glossy & HP Soft Gloss. Love the Soft Gloss for portraits. HTH

Bumping this back to the top to say that I picked up a brand new in the box Selphy 910 at JoAnn's for $49 + tax for a friend last week. They had an entire shelf full of them all on clearance. If you like the Selphy and wanted to replace it cheap, this would be a good option.

I've used all different types of paper, even just plain old cheap cardstock and have had great results with everything! That is probably one of the biggest reasons I love my PM... no special paper required!
