The worst sheets I ever had were $130 set by Calvin Klein. My favorites are WalMart $35 Better Homes and Garden 100% cotton sheets. They are so soft and wear well. I have five pair and just bought two more pair in case they stop selling them.

I am so picky about sheets, but my search ended in 2015 when I saved my pennies and invested in linen sheets/blanket/duvet cover from "Rough Linen". Yes, it costs a lot, but you get what you pay for. What was important to me was quality, just the weight of the sheets and the weave of the linen tell me of the quality. Now I've had them, the more I've washed them, the softer/smoother they get and linen doesn't pill, it's neither too hot or cold, no matter what season, it breathes and my linen blanket drapes over me all night. I love natural fiber and linen is pretty strong material. But yes, it's investing in my bed and comfort. I haven't ever been too hot while sleeping since I got them.

oh, and go for broke and buy some nice Downey fabric softener in that lovely lavender vanilla scent too. When you pull back the bed covers you are enveloped in that dreamy scent!
Bad advice for nice sheets. Fabric softener coats the fibers to make you think it is softening the fabric but you'll eventually ruin your sheets.
I recommend Sferra, Frette and Anichini. Not to mention that it is full of toxic chemicals.

I have the Kirkland brand from Costco and they are like silk...so soft. Don't get the Charisma brand...they didn't last a year. My husband must be restless and his dry feet end up making holes on his side. I think the Kirkland brand are probably the softest sheets I have ever owned and I think they are a high thread count as well. I think you might be right about it being your DH's feet. I love the Charisma brand sheets. I haven't have any problems with them. I like the towels, too.

I am pretty easy, I probably couldn't tell the difference between expensive and cheap sheets! Good thing, we are on a tight budget. But I will keep ideas in mind and maybe sometime try some nice, reasonably priced sheets. I'm super cheap since I only work part time and am working on my RN to BSN. That's why I go to TJ Maxx, so I can still afford great sheets We have TJ Maxx nearby! I will have to look there. Congratulations on working on your RN-BSN! We are learning about nursing as our high school senior is going to college for nursing. She just has to pick which school. Such a hard decision!

My favorites are the hotel sheets from Cuddledown of Maine. They do last a while, and they are a nice combo of soft and slightly crisp. They are expensive, but they do put discontinued or unpopular colors on sale pretty frequently (they are white -- the colors are just the stitching on the trim).

I had seen a ranking of sheets somewhere and the Kirkland brand was near the very top so I tried them. They are super soft and long-lasting.

My motto is that life is too short to sleep on cheap sheets!

Don't laugh but I bought some from the Girl Scouts and they are the BEST sheets I have ever had. So flipping soft. I have had them since October and they have held up wonderfully. I wash and put them right back on. Best part $40, any size. LOVE them. I don't know if all Girl Scouts participate in this fund raiser or not. My daughter just sold some as a fundraiser. Not for Girl Scouts but for dance. I ordered a set and they are heaven!
