Dottyscrapper, it happened in 2017. Here. I can pretty much guarantee that this wasn't Americans who took their daughters from Minnesota to Detroit to have this butchering done.

Cindy I didn't say it was. You seem to be missing the point.The point of the article was that the west are not that innocent in FGM either and it's equally as shocking that it went on as late as 1947 for the woman who wrote the article. The west were educated by that time so what was our ( the so called civilized world) excuse? It was as barbaric then as it is now. Suggesting that in 2017 they should go back to their own country isn't going to solve the global problem of it. Our action should be to educate not to wash our hands of them and let them continue doing so in their own country. |
