Has anyone used this? Or have a laminate floor they love? I know we've talked flooring before... but don't temper comments about this brand.

Ours is Mohawk Buttercream Maple laminate. I did not want to go dark because of how dust and hair shows easier. It also looks like wood and not a blurred photo look that you can sometines see with that type of flooring. It's been great!

Ours is the Pergo brand from Lowes. We just installed about 1300 square feet ourselves.

We put in Allen & Roth Russet Oak about 4 years ago in our living room and hall. It still looks as good as the day we put it down. We liked it so well we just put it in the bedrooms last week.
We are easy on floors though. No dogs or small children.

We have pergo that we bought at lowes as well i don't remember the exact color
it's a medium/dark
i agree that the darker you go - the more dirt/hair shows up
i run a large dust mop over mine everyday and it helps
i use a shark steam mop to clean it once a week
i have had dogs - the kids dogs have stayed for a bit
my grandkids have ridden tricycles and run hot wheels a million miles
there's not a scratch
the sound of dog toe nails on it does drive me crazy
we also installed our own - very easy to do
and we kept a couple boxes just in case
it will warp if it gets soaked

I love mine but it has warped in a couple of spots where my old cat peed.

We are installing Allen & Roth Handscraped Toasted Chestnut in 4 bedrooms and the hallway upstairs in our house. Love, love, love it. It clicks into place so easily. Be sure to buy the right saw blade to avoid chipping when you cut the boards to size. We have genuine hardwood in some of our main level rooms. I prefer the Allen & Roth because we have 3 dogs.

I was kind of bummed about that, because I love my steam mop. We were told it would ruin the floors. How long have you been using your steam mop on your floors? I would love to be able to steam mop my floors, because keeping them clean has made me wish we had never gotten them.

Our Armstrong laminate in our main area has been in for 18 years. I have used a steamer on it and I didn't notice anything damaging it. Our laminate has been dull for years though. I don't think the steam is going to make it any worse.

Thank you for info. I like the idea of buying a little extra in case of future problem. We have stone and ceramic tile on part of the ground floor, it gets so cold in winter and I want wood in the kitchen.

We have it too. But I don't remember the excact color. It was cherry or chesnut something I think. It's semi dark.It was when our flood happened, and our contractor suggested the color. His parents had it with dark haired dogs etc.. and it wore well. I was worried about it at first because we do have a black Lab/Akita and she sheds like crazy! You do see the hair but I don't mind it because I can tell where I need to get the swiffer. You do hear the nails on it but so far we haven't had any issues cleaning it. We also have a pool and you have to go through the mudroom and the kitchen to get to the bathroom so it does get wet from people and dogs. But I was happy it's turned out just fine. No warping or buckling. But we did have that with the tile that was in before the flood. So I was super happy with the wood!! I usually use the Bona cleaning pads with a swiffer type mop. I also found that you can use a oil/vinegar mixture that is similar to the Bona stuff, one Pinetrest that works pretty well. The Bona stuff gets to be expensive. I'd like to do the back half of the house with the same but I'll have to go back and look at the invoices to get the color name.

We have that brand. My husband and his dad did our kitchen, dining room and 2 bathrooms in a day. Easy to install. We use a steam mop on it 3-4 times a month no issue. Have had it for 4 years now. 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 kids. Still looks good.

We put the Allen + Roth Toasted Chestnut in our living room and dining room almost 2 years ago. We love it. It was affordable, easy to install (with a friend's help), and looks beautiful. Dh does steam mop it and it looks perfect.
One thing I would recommend if you are doing it yourself is to get the Pergo gold underlayment. The Pergo flooring wasnt worth the cost, but the underlayment is!

OLD THREAD ALERT! Almost two years old! That's weird. How did it get back to the top?? Someone with their first post responded to the thread, which made it active, and moved it back up to the top of the list. It's a good reminder to all of us that EVERYTHING we post here is PUBLIC. You can go on google and do searches for stuff, and those results can lead you here. ETA: I just checked, and the person who posted it, bumping it to the top, has deleted their post.
