***Update: I decided to create a Blogger blog, since that's the format I know best and the pages are easy to arrange in order. I've put up the January 1943 issue and the February 1943 issue. More to come as I have time. If you click an image, you should be able to page through the whole magazine. This is going to sound like a weird question. I have a small collection (six or seven copies) of a very old magazine called American Cookery. All of my copies are from the WW II era, so the articles and recipes are really interesting. I came across them while I was cleaning out some closets a few weeks ago and they are starting to crumble around the edges, so I was thinking it might be nice to scan them and share them online. Where would be the best place to do this? I have a blog, but I didn't know if a site like Flickr or Instagram might be more easily seen/searched by people who are interested in vintage recipes. I'm not sure what, if anything, the copyright issue might be. I believe this magazine went out of print at least 50 years ago, and I have never, ever seen any other copies, anywhere, on- or off-line. I just want to share these online before they crumble to dust!

I have no good suggestions but please post where we can see it when you do finally find a home for the scans. I love old cookbooks. I have a couple of them from the early 1900s. They are tall and skinny width books. I haven't looked at them for years. You've inspired me to go dig them out.

You might be able to put them on Issuu. Not sure if it's free. issuu.com/

There are places on FB that post old recipes, such as Recipes of Days Gone By. You could start a recipe site there. I love old recipes!

Maybe post in the recipe section here?
It would be fun to have a weekly post.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I scanned the first magazine the other night--it took forever and crumbled as I turned the pages! I'm thinking I may start out on my blog or maybe start a whole new blog for them along with some other old recipe booklets I have. I'm still looking around at the options. When I get them online, I'll definitely let y'all know.

I checked out the January 1943 version - so interesting and fun to read. I can't say I saw a recipe I would want to add to our menu though.
The pages look great online. Thank you for sharing
