I definitely have one that is NOT my favorite. I cringe when she is working the register. she is the most unfriendly cashier ever. there is a particular cashier at the target I go to that is the nicest lady. she has a very thick New Jersey or New York accent and she is likes to slip in her religious references but overall she is super friendly and very positive. no matter how long the line is, I can wait for her because she's so pleasant. How does she slip in religion at the checkout? "PRAISE ALLAH, you selected asparagus!" ?? she'll greet you and then she'll say something like "isn't this a blessed day?" and if you comment about anything she might say "well, the Bible says..." and when you are leaving she'll say "God Bless" or something like that. she's just the nicest lady and what she says doesn't bother me a bit probably because she is so cheery and positive. it doesn't come off preachy or anything.

I love self checkout. No awkward chatting, and you can bag your own groceries. Exactly! Self checkout doesn't get an attitude or throw your bananas. There is a one store with a cashier who is on the ball- fast, efficient, knows how to apply coupons and pleasant. If only they could all be that way.
OP - That is a great story about your mom and how sweet of you to go tell her in person. That warms my heart.

I opt for self check out whenever I can. I do have a few cashiers that I avoid though because of bad experiences. I use my own bags and normally tell cashiers that I'll just pack the bags myself because most of them don't pack them well and I have a process. They look at me like I have two heads.

I have a few that I avoid but not really any favorites.
There are some who I'm sure don't like to see me coming. Like the one who dropped and broke my eggs and then said she didn't break them but that I was welcome to go get new ones. I said I'm not going you are you broke them. She just kept saying she didn't break them. I ended up raising my voice because she pissed me off so bad. She dropped them right in front of me did she think I was stupid. I avoid her whenever I can she also like to put bread in with canned goods and drop delicate fruits. I would say she's my least favorite cashier.

I shop around, but I have two main stores. At one store, I definitely have a few favourites. They know me by name, they're friendly, efficient, just great women. At the other store, which is newer to my area, I am still getting to know them.

In Oklahoma you must show an id regardless of age. The cashier also scans your id.
But I may be wrong too as I dont buy anything that requires an id.

I have had some I avoid and Target had a few I liked as they were fast and courteous but they didn't seem to last long. I hope that means they got better jobs as they really seemed on the ball. Cashiers didn't seen to last long at target but the ones at Costco have been there for 10+ years most of them and the same at Michaels one lady worked there for years and she was always cranky and usually the only cashier

I have Jake. He went to school with my eldest son. He's softly spoken, a little bit shy but very efficient and always packs my stuff nicely. He always asks about my son and tells me what he did on the weekend. Plus he told me I don't look old enough to have a 19 year old. Every Thursday, I line up for a play date with Jake.
