...you buy a paper pad you fall in love with then, when you're putting it away, find you bought that same one several years ago. And haven't touched it.
...you utter the words, "Wow, what a great embellishment. When did I buy that?"
I'm hoping I'm not the only one this kind of thing happens to. Please feel free to join in.

When you're over at ACOT looking at a paper and when you scroll down you notice you left a review on it a few years ago. Didn't even realize it was in my stash.

For once you actually remember a "perfect" paper that will match some new photos and despite searching through all your labelled containers you STILL can't find it!
I just know that once I start using an alternative paper the other one will turn up!

You've had to move some of your stuff into a 2nd room.
BUT.....I am in the process of detashing for a 2nd time in a year. The more I do it, the easier it is to part with things.

When I read threads like this, I'm inspired to have a larger stash.

. . .your shelving bends, bows and looks ready to collapse. Or so I've heard not speaking from personal experience, of course.

All of the above! I love my stash!
It is large, but I've realized it's still manageable. It's the odd vintage find or extra piece of furniture that's causing problems!

Oh my!~ I have so many of these that it makes my head hurt. When I RAK 500 pieces of paper, 120 PL cards and other stuff and there is no dent in the stash at all. Just more and more piles. When iris cases sit empty next to piles and piles of paper that needs to be sorted into them.
When you no longer even attempt to put anything away in your scraproom but just pile it on dining room chairs or put the bag in your bedroom with all the others to sort through.
When you organize the things you have purchased for a certain project, and those items fill 2 LARGE plastic cases so now they are too heavy and unwieldy to take anywhere to crop.

When you have to have hubby cut extra shelving for your bookshelves to give you more storage space.

There is nothing wrong with a large stash. Large is subjective, haha! When it becomes a hoard it has gone way past large!

I don't think my stash is at the level of some of these but...
when you scrap 200 layouts in 4 months and only have to re-stock adhesive and cardstock...no noticeable dent in anything else

My paper stash is too big only when it will no longer fit in my one cubby bin (maybe 14x14 cube?). I won't comment on my embellishments. 🙄

You stop scrapbooking because you have too much stuff. I took a couple month hiatus and am just getting back to it. Still a challenge.

I destashed last year when I moved and then again in the last few weeks. This time I was harsh and got rid of about 10 boxes of stuff. I could probably take a more critical eye and fill another 3-5 boxes too, but for now I'm going to let it sit and see how it goes. It's already more manageable, which is about all I can ask for.

You're in a great scrapbook store with something lucious in your hands and all you can think is:"I'm going to have to put this in a box and move it to South Carolina in two years. Do I really need it that badly?" And then you buy it anyway.

Years ago a friend and I checked out a scrapbook store in a nearby city. They had a very small selection. My friend commented that each of us had more stuff than they had in this tiny place. I think she was pretty close to right. Embarrassing and cool at the same time.

You realize you no longer have shelf space for all your finished books (that no one looks at except you). I'm there! I am making my DD take two of her books. She'll complain, but too bad I would like to send the grandkids' books home with them, but they split their time between mom and dad. Mom doesn't have space and at dad's they would probably get destroyed.

. . .your shelving bends, bows and looks ready to collapse. Or so I've heard not speaking from personal experience, of course. Mine DID collapse! It was my library of scrapping books that did it in. RIP, cheap crappy shelf! Seriously though, you know you have too much stuff when you not only spill into another room but when you have to buy a whole new HOUSE. And then spend $xx,xxx to build it out the way you want it to store all that stuff! I don't know *anybody* who has done that...

I really plan to have a dedicated space when we buy our next place.
