Okay, I was going to do this starting Monday, but because some people want to get an early start, we will get going right away!
This is my plan: anyone can smack down a challenge in this thread. I will edit this first post to copy & paste each challenge and give it a number.
Challenge #1: (Grammadee) Love your Mom: create at least one Mothers' Day card. Alternatively, create a page about being a mom, or about your own mother.
Challenge #2: (Grammadee) Scavenger hunt: find a challenge on another site and link it here. Then we can all give it a try. So far we have:
*ACOT's April Holiday challenge *see details in my post below.
*iNSD "Let's get Crafty" fb activities with the scrap gals community Let's Get Crafty link
Challenge #3: (Grammadee) Ketchup challenge: go to the Master Link of 2017 2peas challenges, check out the 2peas challenges you have not yet completed, and take one or more of those on.
Challenge #4: (Crystalb) Fresh and Stale (LOL!) aka old and new supplies: Use something older than one year and something new that you just bought (saw within the last three months?) on the same creation!
Challenge #5: (Crystalb) Snackity Snack Snack: Create something with FOOD of any sort on it. Your favorite food, snack, a great meal you had, a recipe you want to remember, cake at a celebration, food pun in the title, food icons as embellishments etc
Challenge #6: (crystalb) Top 10: Create a list, page planner, page or even a card with some sort of top ten list: top ten reasons you love to scrap/create, top ten reasons you love your life, top ten pet peeves, top ten favorite things right now etc etc
Challenge #7: (crystal) Nada Nope: Create something with either no words/journaling, no pictures, or no pattern paper
Challenge #8: (maribeth) Get-Er-Done challenge - Complete projects that are partially complete and are just waiting that little somethin'-somethin', or start projects you have been needing/wanting to do and have been putting off or have just not had the time to work on them.
Challenge #9: (Grammadee) Spring Ribbon Challenge: Use ribbon on a card or a page or any other project (gift for Mom, maybe?). Bonus points for spring colours. Sample included in message below.
Challenge #10: (kikipea). ALL OR NOTHING. This one is called All or nothing. The sketch is super simple, on purpose. I'd love to see this taken in all directions...little to no embellishment, moderate embellishment, lots and lots of embellishment...small versions, 8.5x11 versions, 9x12 versions...you dream it up, I want to see it! 😁. The sketch is in kikipea's post below.
Challenge #11: (Grammadee) Spell it Out! Spell out iNSD with the elements on your page. Check the details in the post below.
Challenge #12: (Chinagirl828) Taste the Rainbow. Mix and match the donuts in her message below to create a colour scheme for your page.
Challenge #13: (dasmith2) Recipe Challenge-create a page using these elements: base cardstock, 2-3 PP, ink, die cuts, tag, ribbon/twine + 2 other elements of your choosing
Challenge #14: (crystalb) Tic Tac Toe- Check it out in her post below. Horizontal, Vertical or Diagonal for a win. Use the three things on your creation. Please note what line you are using.
Challlenge #15: (sueg) The Sound of Music - create a LO that relates to Music in some way. It could be about a concert or recital, or use the title or lyrics of a song as your title or journaling, or . . . . . .
Challenge #16: (msliz) Twist and Shout This is a challenge to use up the strings, yarns, and fibers that you started collecting so many years ago. I know you still have some. Wrap them around a card or a tag, wrap them around long strips to frame your page, braid them, make a tassel, sew a blanket stitch, loop short pieces through a series of holes to make a fringe. Just use them. Liberally. And then reward yourself with one of Chinagirl 's doughnuts.
Challenge #17: (grammadee) SHOW ME! Choose any TV show, and use it to inspire your project in some way. It could be the title. Or the setting. Or something really obscure. Be sure to tell us what the show is and what the connection is. For example Tim Allen once starred in a show called Tool Time. So if I do something inspired by Tim Holtz, or use some of my beloved tools in my creation, that would qualify for this challenge.
Challenge #18: (dasmith2) Use 'em up! Something we all have plenty of!!! I could probably make an album using all my scraps! Create a LO using just scraps (except for base), partially used stickers, thickers etc. Let's use them up!
Challenge #19: (grammadee) Take a Class and pass it on! If you have come across a class or a tutorial somewhere out there on the web, please let us know about it. If you have a chance to complete some project that is influenced by that instruction, please share that as well.
I will include a mention of your link as part of this list. If you want to follow that link from someone else, just scroll down to their post later in this thread, and click on the link there.
*GIS's Scrapbook ideas for clusters, stacks, series & more. (Grammadee) I have linked it in my post below.
*Victoria Marie's On Line classes. dasmith2 is taking Like a Boss. Her post below has the link, a sale notice, and a code for that sale.
Challenge #20: (justjac) Stamp it Up. Create your own background by stamping on cardstock. A sample of Jac's stamped bg is in her post below.
Challenge #21: (scrapper100) Fill 'em up! - Put your layouts into albums. Let us know how many pages you get squared away by the end of next weekend.
Challenge #22: (scrapper100) Spring Cleaning. Take some time to clean off your scrap desk. Or organize your workspace. Put away your new goodies and your scraps from your last creative spree. Make your scraproom into a place you can't wait to get into to play.
Challenge #23: (grammadee) Get with the times! Take on one or more of the 2pr May challenges just posted. Chinagirl828 has her regular two up: May Bonus Challenge and May stash challenge. crystalb has just posted her May Bash It challenge and her May kit challenge, and dasmith2 has a new I challenge YOU one up. DawnMcD has posted her May diecut challenge as well. And--just because this is the name of this challenge--how about you find a way to add a CLOCK to one or more of those challenges?
Challenge #24: (crystalb) 6X6 challenge: use ONLY paper in 6X6 or less on your creations
Challenge #25: (crystalb) Shape it up: Make your title/sentiment in a shape-anything goes as long as it is not straight
Challenge #26: (crystalb) Black out: Use black as your accent color in your embellishments, letters, journaling or photo mats
Challenge #27: (crystalb) Get Messy: Break out those sprays/inks/nuvos/gelatos etc and get messy on your creations. Get some inky fingers!
Challenge #28: (grammadee) Show us your hand(s). ACOT had an interesting teaser yesterday for their iNSD activities, where they asked people to deal themselves 5 cards from a deck, and take a photo of their "poker hand". Further instructions will be given later. Hmmm... You may want to play along with that challenge. But I am thinking as a followup to crystalb 's challenge above, I would like to see a photo of your messy hands after taking on her messy challenge!
Challenge #29: (grammadee) Switch it Up! Change at least one thing about your style for one project. If you usually type your journaling, then handwrite it (or vise versa). If you are a one photo per page scrapper, add a couple more. If you usually cut your titles electronically, use stickers this time. If you usually use a white cs bg, use dark cs, or bright pp, or... You get the drift.
Challenge #30: (DawnMcd) Get Real! Use a photorealistic Background on your layout, card or project.
When you see a challenge you like, scroll down to where it was originally posted below. You may find samples or additional details there.
When you come up with something to meet a challenge, please let us know in this thread with a link to your project if possible and if you feel comfortable doing that. Otherwise, just tell us what you have done.
There will also be a separate thread for crop chat. I think it might be easier to find challenges that way. For this weekend, let's use crystalb 's iNSD thread for chat...
