This is a big frickin' deal to me! These are the first 2017 photos I have of them! It's only two of them, but still! It's rare that they even send me a selfie! I don't put them on facebook or anything. I just want to scrapbook them. But they just hate being in front of the camera. Especially mine, it seems.
My three are girls, but I hear that boys can be just as bad.
Are there any other moms of teens that can commiserate with me?
(I'm off to a birthday party, but I'll check back in later.)

Mine take plenty of photos, I just don't get to see them.

My two are there right now. I guess I will be scrapping their backs or other things and explain why I don't have pictures of their faces in the journaling!

I have a few photos of them from very far away, like one standing at the bus stop, and another walking into a building. Then they call me a stalker. And, I guess, technically, they're correct, but sheesh, I'm their mother.

We are taking our 21 and 23 year olds to Punta Cana in June. I have already mentioned there will be photos and they will be smiling. My youngest (and his girlfriend) are always up for a photo shoot. It is just the oldest who is more difficult. Since we are staying at an all inclusive and alcohol will be flowing freely, I am anticipating many smiles.

Well, shoot, frankly a few smiles is the very least they should pay you for a vacation like that!

I threatened to follow my DS to school on the first day of his senior year, if he didn't let me take the annual photo on our front porch. He knew I meant it!
I feel your pain.

My just turned 13 year old daughter who used to love having her picture taken, has now become very uncooperative. So I now have tons of pictures of her giving me the "look". The "mom, really?" Look. My 15 year old son is cooperative 90% of the time.
Ahhhh, teenagers, can't kill 'em, gotta love them!!! 😂

Of our three teens I have one who hasn't met a camera she didn't love. Her bedroom is plastered with selfies. And I have two who hide every time the camera comes out.

I have one who only allows photos if she is perfectly made up/hair done, but then still won't stand for what I consider a normal photo. There always have to be silly faces or strange poses.
The other one doesn't want pictures at all, ever, and refuses to smile with teeth because of her braces or have a normal look on her face at all.

DD(16) flipped through the first six weeks or so of my 2017 scrapbook and commented that she wasn't in it - I pointed out that she needs to let me take pictures or share pictures with me in order to be IN the scrapbooks...there are a few more pictures from the next six weeks...

I print every photo I see of them on facebook. Often they just send them to me. But DS1 told me the other night that "You don't need to scrap every photo." Um, yes I do.

I don't have many photos of my kids from when they were teens, except for school and hockey photos, and the occasional birthday pic. But I didn't scrapbook then. My dgk's seem more or less open to my photo taking, but I really try for more casual unposed shots. And if I think a photo might be embarrassing to them, I ask if I can scrap it. The ones who have cellphones send me photos to scrap.
The oldest one (aged 17) likes to see himself on scrapbook pages, but has a love/hate relationship with a camera: from taking selfies with my Cannon Rebel to hiding from it completely. He accused me of stalking him when I put a photo of him all covered up in bed, but I had warned him I needed a photo before I left, and that was the only one I got. And when I reminded him, he grinned and said, "yeah, I know..."

Lots of goofy smiles during those years (end of 2nd-9th grade).

My two girls would only pose if it was Christmas or they were with their cousins for group pics. I resorted to lifting pics from their facebook pages! They are getting better now that they are in their 20's. Usually the photos are at restaurants when we are all together, and yes alcohol is involved.

msliz, congrats on getting your photos. My teen isn't crazy about photos, but he'll let me take them.
