trump..
"The big story is the "unmasking and surveillance" of people that took place during the Obama Administration."
No tiny hands the BIG story is if you and the Russians got together to win an election.

And now The Guardian in the UK are reporting that Nigel Farage - UKIP leader who campaigned for Brexit - is 'a person of interest' to the FBI over connections to Trump and Russia. Nigel Farage and Russian connectionsWhere is this all going to end?

MSNBC... "Spicer on 'covfefe' tweet: "The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant." Yea I bet. I said it on the other thread, but can't resist adding it here. Based on Spicer's explanation, DH and I believe "covfefe" is Trump's safe word.

From then personal twitter account of Rep. Devin Nunes...
"Seeing a lot of fake news from media elites and others who have no interest in violations of Americans' civil liberties via unmaskings."
First this is the guy that went to the White House to read classified information then tried to pretend he was telling the White House the information or something stupid like that.
Second whatever happened to getting to the truth. If there is nothing there when it comes to Russia then why so many roadblocks?

From FiveThirityEight..
"The U.S.’s record streak of job growth kept going in May, but the economy may be starting to flash signs of trouble. 53eig.ht/2smvkMY"
138,000 jobs created but lower than predicted. If the economy slows down on trump's watch I wonder who he will blame.

Politico...
🇫🇷 President @emmanuelmacron is making a name for himself trolling @realdonaldtrump politi.co/2s1AGzA via @politicoeurope
One of the reasons this guy is making a name for himself is because he is young and enthusiastic.
Compare that to trump.
Which makes the case that the next president of this country needs to be young and enthusiastic. And Biden. Sanders, and even Warren need to step aside. And folks like Kamala Harris, Adam Schiff, and Gavin Newsom need to step forward even more. Yes I know they are all from CA but I'm sure other states have candidates just like the three I listed that need to step forward and get their names out there as well.
And while I'm rearranging CA Politics I also think it's time Diane Feinstein step aside and let a younger person represent our state.

I just read this term applied to trump. "Ethically Vacant".
I like it because it certainly does describe trump.

I'm going to cling to this one last must have characteristic - must not be an asshole. I my lifetime even the presidents I didn't agree with have usually at least made that mark. Even Bill Clinton wasn't a complete asshole. I mean there's a case to be made that he was an ass to both Hillary and Monica but he wasn't a complete asshole. Nixon- criminal, crazy paranoid but not really an asshole. Obama - not an asshole at all even when I disagreed with him. Lied a few times but generally not a bad sort. Currently with 45 -well, draw your own conclusions.

Heard an odd coincidence yesterday. I believe it's ABC that will be airing a show about Watergate in a couple of weeks. Coincidence? It's 45 years since Watergate and the one in the Oval Office is number 45.
Looking forward to watching this as my brother was working for McGovern at the time of Watergate.

Both are managing to make a name for themselves even at their 'advanced' age. I do think there is a case for vitality, but the world also needs some steady, experienced hands at the helm. While DT obviously is having issues with keeping up - quite noticable on the recent tour - he also is suffering from not having a f'ing clue what he is meant to do.

From Phillip Rucker - Washington Post. "Reuters: In interviews with FBI director finalists, Trump "spoke mostly about himself and seemed distracted" If that is true that is not very promising but hardly unexpected. Edited a random tweet to the tweet above... "Did they get souvenir electoral maps?"

I think Gavin Newsom is running for CA governor... No question but his end game is president and if the opportunity should present itself he may make a run for it sooner instead of later. Or being governor of the state with the 6th largest economy in the world would be helpful for down the road. Even if it is a liberal coastal state. But the important point is he isn't in his 70's. He has time.

NBC News...
"EXCLUSIVE: Putin tells NBC News’ Megyn Kelly that U.S. hackers may have framed Russia for election interference"
Let's see do I believe our intelligence or Putin? Well considering how much Putin has in common with trump in that they both lie, I'll believe our intelligence.

From Politico...
"With the Russia probe heating up, Trump could face a rough few months without legislative victories to tout politi.co/2rRraiO"
Two points.
1. Regardless of any "legislative victories to tout" you will have a rough time until the Russia story is told and resolved.
2. Somehow I can't see anyone thinking legislation that kicks millions of people off their health care insurance and a tax plan/budget that guts popular social programs just so the rich can get tax cut is the kind of victory that one would want to "tout".

linkNew York Times is running a story on when GOP leaders decided Climate Change was fake. It's one depressing article on the state of this country and politics. From the article... "Those divisions did not happen by themselves. Republican lawmakers were moved along by a campaign carefully crafted by fossil fuel industry players, most notably Charles D. and David H. Koch, the Kansas-based billionaires who run a chain of refineries (which can process 600,000 barrels of crude oil per day) as well as a subsidiary that owns or operates 4,000 miles of pipelines that move crude oil. Government rules intended to slow climate change are “making people’s lives worse rather than better,” Charles Koch explained in a rare interview last year with Fortune, arguing that despite the costs, these efforts would make “very little difference in the future on what the temperature or the weather will be.” That's a bunch of bullshit. But he's got money and further down in the article it explains what Koch did with his money to change GOP politicians view on climate change. Jerk.

Can someone explain to me again how trump is not using the office of the president to benefit his businesses?

I don't remember who said it but there was a Trumper on CNN either last night or this morning who, when asked once again if Trump believes in climate change, said "Of course he cares about nature, he's built all these golf courses".
