Tuesday morning offering.....
"The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need 60 votes in the Senate which are not there! We...."
"either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good "shutdown" in September to fix mess!"

Thank you for starting a new thread. I was overwhelmed by the length of the old one and never opened it. Was hoping you'd start over again soon. I admit I am torn over this one. When "part 1" got up to 30 or 40 pages in such a short time, I thought we had finally found a topic that would give the EPIC Studio C thread over on GS a run for it's title and "part 2" was up in the 50's IIRC; as the SC thread is vastly slower than it was say a year ago, I thought we might have a contender as the tweet thread is the gift that keeps on giving! On balance though, I would rather have the participation.

So, it,s ok to change the rules when it benefits Republican control? He is fucking insane.

I've moved to the point of being actually embarrassed every time Trump opens his mouth. It's just that bad in my opinion. How in the world has he survived for 70 years? My teenagers have better manners, speaking skills and knowledge of the world. Even my 15 year old knows more about the civil war. This is, in a nutshell, what I was going to add to my previous post! Just when you think we couldn't possibly be any more embarrassed than we already are, he opens his mouth again and proves us wrong. It's gotten to the point where 'embarrassing' is an understatement. I normally try not to curse on the interwebs, but this administration is truly one giant sh!tshow and even that is putting it mildly.

"either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good "shutdown" in September to fix mess!" I saw this a little while ago. Who in their right mind would advocate for a government shutdown? That absolutely hurts the very people the president took an oath to protect. All through the campaign we had to hear how good of a negotiator Trump was and how he could work with everyone blah, blah, blah. So where is this so called ability to work with everyone? The minute it becomes hard Trump retreats and cries wolf.

David Fahrenthold...
"Some House R's saying AHCA too harsh, but they'll vote for it anyway, to get it off their plate and to Senate."
That is what I like about some members of Congress. Always willing to pass the buck. I may be crazy here but I'm thinking that when we elect our members of Congress we don't them to have a "let the other guy deal with it " attitude.

I canNOT BELIEVE that his base supporters would believe he still 'knows what they think and need' when they hear him say things like this. (Well, they SHOULDN'T, but sadly, I know they still will.)

From Newsweek's Kurt Eichenwald....
"Here is problem: Arrogance of ignorance. @repmobrooks & his ilk make policy based on 1 thing -tax cuts- w/o knowing bout insurance or health"
Can't argue with that.

Wow, up to 2 pages already!
Here a gem for you from the CBS news Face The Nation interview:
John Dickerson: George W. Bush said the reason the Oval Office is round is there are no corners you can hide in.
Pres. Trump: Well there's truth to that. There is truth to that. And you look, there's a certain openness. But there's nobody out there. You know, there is an openness, but I've never seen anybody out there actually, as you can imagine.
Dickerson: But he--what he meant was it's--all comes--
Trump: Sure. Sure.
Dickerson: --back to you.

I posted this on another thread, thought I'd share it here as well. Yep, we truly are doomed. This was from the CBS interview. Did anyone pick up on this little snippet. They were discussing health care. Apparently building a strong military is more important than health care. Yep, he really cares for the American people doesn't he? TRUMP: Look, because, if you hurt your knee, honestly, I'd rather have the federal government focused on North Korea, focused on other things than your knee, OK, or than your back, as important as your back is. This would be really funny if it weren't real. I had a boss once that anytime you asked a difficult question, she would pivot to another subject and you would just be stunned thinking that it didn't happen. Half of the time I thought I might be on Candid Camera. I am talking asking about large class sizes for the next year and her saying that most kids have difficulty reading because they need to have an eye test.

I really think that he has Alzheimer's. He can't remember what he said earlier because he will say the opposite. He is fixated on certain things that he does remember, such as wiretapping and the electoral map.
My dad would forget certain things but he would also be fixated on certain things, like his car, and about old neighbours he used to know. He would always bring certain things up again and again, driving my mom nuts, but he would forget other things. He would repeat the same thing over and over like Trump is doing.
I am positive he is suffering from Alzheimer's. And if he is, he will find things very confusing. And being President means there is an awful lot that he is supposed to remember and work through.
My dad was very good at navigating. If he had been down a road once, he never needed a map to find it again. When he became ill, the skills that he was best at were the ones that he lost first. It was very sad.

"either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good "shutdown" in September to fix mess!"and if I recall, wasn't he just saying just days ago that shutting down the government would be a disaster (or bad, sad -one his fave words). Oh, ok now you think it's good IF YOU are the one doing it? huh. ETA found tweets 5 days ago about gov shutdown. I apologize, he said neither "sad", "bad" or "disaster" but "Politics!" instead. My bad. Donald J. TrumpVerified account @realdonaldtrump Apr 27
I promise to rebuild our military and secure our border. Democrats want to shut down the government. Politics! and Donald J. TrumpVerified account @realdonaldtrump Apr 27 The Democrats want to shut government if we don't bail out Puerto Rico and give billions to their insurance companies for OCare failure. NO!
Long drive today and heard on the radio that Jimmy Kimmels opening last night could already be affecting the Repub trying to repeal/replace ACA. His newborn had to have emergency surgery and he tearfully told the story and in the end he said something to the effect that this is why we need healthcare for everyone. It's gone viral and it's hitting home with people and all the way to DC

Yup it did get him tweeting tonight.....
"FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds! The phony..."
"...Trump/Russia story was an excuse used by the Democrats as justification for losing the election. Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign?"
Sigh....

First trump tweet on the new thread..... "President Andrew Jackson, who died 16 years before the Civil War started, saw it coming and was angry. Would never have let it happen!" The good news he realizes Andrew Jackson was dead years before the Civil War. The bad news this didn't make it better because he proves he has to be right.... Doesn't really read like a Trump tweet though. Probably some on staff realized his mistake and tweeted for him so that he didn't look like a total fool.

Only saw enough to know she'd ruffle his feathers, to put it mildly. Here's a link to article and some of it. Must be full interview somewhere

He yammers on about winning the election because it's the only success he's had as President. I wish he cared less about his win and more about the country he supposedly wanted to govern.

They had a long segment on morning Joe's this morning about the presidents mental state and its not good and it's getting worse . Oh? Do tell! I watched this segment yesterday morning. You didn't miss anything because they said the same things that are said here about his mental state. They showed a clip of Trump being interviewed years ago (can't remember the topic), and discussed his demeanor then to now. I really don't like the format of their show, and honestly, I kept waiting for the funeral music to start playing during the segment. OT, but does that Mika ever contribute anything, or is she just planted there to have that constant deer caught in the headlights look on her face? I switch thru different news channels, and Morning Joe is my least favorites. I saw a blurb where Joe snapped at Mika last week, calling her rude and criticizing her because she cuts people off to insert snotty comments?
