Chris Hayes MSNBC "Emerging defense of Trump from GOP is basically that POTUS is too dumb/naive/or in over his head to have committed obstruction." Even trump isn't that dumb/naive that he doesn't understand what it means when the President of the United States asks the head of the FBI to make something go away. He just thought he could get away with it. And it appears the Republicans are going to do their best to help him do just that. Pretty scary that those employing this defense think it is ok to have the country and global stability in the hands of someone that dumb/naive/or in over his head. Party over country right?

The Daily Beast...
"So far this is just like every other hearing in that the members are more concerned with their own soundbites than the actual testimony."
And this is why I never watch these hearings, as important as they are, because I have no patience with the grandstanding.
I wait for the written transcript.

From FiveThrityEight.. A reminder to senators: A new Quinnipiac poll says only 19% of Americans approve of the job Rs are doing in Congress" But the sort of good good news for Democrats.. "Only 28% of Americans approve of the job Democrats are doing in Congress."

Nate Silver...
"Notice how the Republicans are dancing around the fact that Comey was fired — and Dems going right after it."
From what I read Comey is slowly filling up the hole trump dug and is sitting in. The question I had was what are the Republicans going to do about it. It appears I have my answer.

Why wouldn't his mood be light with the Republicans bending over to protect him.

Those emails. Folks an older woman that was techically challenged used electronic devices she was comfortable with. That's all it was. Dumb no kidding and we are all paying a price for that one dumb move on her part.

From Politico..
".@potus on Democrats: "They say resist. But they really should say obstruct."
I'm ok with that. The Democrats need to "obstruct" trump and the Republican's agenda of:
* Kicking millions of their health care insurance and offering limited benefits under the guise of lowering the premiums.
* Gut the EPA under the guise the regulations are job killers. Hint look at CA on how that is a lie.
* Gut Dodd-Frank
* trump's and the Republican versions of the budget cutting programs that actually help people just so they can give the rich and corporations a tax cut under the guise it will create jobs.
* trump's grand infrastructure plan is to have private investors fund/do the work instead of using tax payer dollars. Problem with those that invest they are looking for a return on their investments. Which mean the middle class and poor are paying taxes to fund the "necessary" running of the federal government like trump's security costs as well as paying for the infrastructure through tolls and other ways the investors will come up with to get a return on their investment. At the root of this grand plan is the tax cut for the rich and corporations and less money coming in.
Since I can't see how any of this benefits the American people then I say to the Democrats obstruct away.

From NBC News...
"Paul Ryan defends Trump: He's new to the job nbcnews.to/2rQBbtS"
1. All that are first elected to the presidency are "new to the job". However, never in the history of modern time presidents has one done so much damage in such a short period of time.
2. Maybe the next time the American voters want change they take a closer look at their choice's qualifications.

Eisenhower was new to the job in January 1953 and had also never been a politician before running for president. Somehow he managed to muddle through without making these horrendous errors of judgment or endangering the nation, the economy, etc. He emerged after eight years (as he had begun) as a beloved and trusted figure. Somehow I don't believe this person currently occupying the office is going to meet that bar.

The sign of a true leader is they understand they don't know everything and surround themselves with those that are as smart and even smarter then they are and don't hesitate to seek their counsel.
Unfortunately for this country , and to a certain degree the rest of the world, you can't say that about trump.

"WASHINGTON (AP) _ Trump lawyer: President `never, in form or substance' directed Comey to stop investigating anyone, including Flynn."
This is a serious problem for trump. He could be very well telling the truth in this case but he has told sooo many lies how can you believe anything he says.

So Senior has reframed today but junior has not...
"Today's Winners: @realdonaldtrump The DOW America/#MAGA
Losers: Comey Loretta Lynch #MSM but especially NYT"
I haven't read the transcript, I know someone brought up the damn emails so I assume Loretta Lynch was mentioned for that. But what does Loretta Lynch have to do with trump trying to stop the FBI investigations?
