And only African-Americans? SaveWhat are you talking about? What does race have to do with the skill set if either job? I'm guessing she means that he seems to appoint all his favorite African-Americans to HUD ... the doctor, the (fake) lawyer ... they're black, so whatever their skills, it's off to HUD they go.

I think he appointed Carson as head of HUD because he's AA and lived in low-income housing (I think DJT thinks "urban" = AA). Anyway - I stand corrected. Some of the other regional appointees are not AA. Race shouldn't have anything to do with either job. Save

Just read the article in link. Small potatoes in the scheme of how our country is being destroyed bit by bit, but holy crap, she's got about as much experience in heading that program as Benny Boy. It's truly horrifying the caliber of people he's putting in these positions. Was she vetted? Can't anyone with some balls step in and stop him from making such unethical choices? I feel sorry for the people of New York that are going to be affected by this.

As rule I don't read the comments to posts in Facebook. But SF Gate was "live" with that debacle going on in Florida about Cuba. So I was curious about what people thought about trump closing the door on Cuba and came across this one comment that annoyed me to no end.
"Hope you can all be respectful and compassionate for other US citizens opinions." Ok that's fair. "Maintain a civilized dialogue and not let your views disrespect anyone personally." Ok. "It's time to accept our president. Together we are strong".
Well he was polite but in that next to last sentence he dismissed everyone's views and feelings about trump that are not his. So matter of fact that everyone should just accept trump. If trump wasn't a nut case I might agree with him. I have certainly done it in the past with other Republican Presidents. Problem is trump is not like any other president this country has ever had. And not in a positive way.
As far as Cuba goes, dumb idea. We boycotted the country for 50 years and nothing changed. Until we started normalizing relations with Cuba we were just about the last country that didn't have relations with Cuba.
Besides I wanted to go to Cuba. And I didn't want to hook up with some group just to get into the country. Dumb trump.

Someone disable his damn phone. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Trump has no self control. Stay off the social media. He is worse than most teens I know. NONONONONONONO..... It's safer that we at least have some glimpse into his scary little mind to know what crazy turn he is taking us next. Plus, prime time tv just wouldn't be the same without his tweeting habit.

From AP..
"Gianforte calls for civility in politics as he heads to Washington with a conviction for assaulting a reporter."
This from a man who because he didn't like a simple question he was asked body slammed a man to the ground. Sometimes one should just keep their mouth shut. This is one of those times IMO.

So president tiny hands was spouting off today that relations with Cuba would move forward once they released all their political prisoners.
Kurt Eichenwald of Newsweek tweeted this comment.
"Kind of hard to reconcile Trump's rage about human rights in Cuba and his lavish praise for Saudi Arabia. One is where they chop off heads."
And then there is Duterte of the Philippines, who he invited to the White House. And then there is Abdul Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt I believe he invited him to the White House as well.
His reasons just don't hold up. He is doing this to please a couple of supporters. Including Rubio's misplaced reasoning.

linkSo earlier this week tiny hands and Ivanka rolled a brand new plan for apprentices. Went all the to Wisconsin to announce it. Didn't take long to figure out he was "narrowing" an Obama plan and making it his own. But Daily Beast provided the rest of the story. From an article.. "So it should come as no surprise that Trump’s workforce-development plan, unveiled Thursday with Trumpian pomp, wasn’t something he built. Instead, he took something that already existed, took out some pieces, reassembled it, and called it his. For good measure, he threw in some magical math. Progeny shouldn’t matter when it comes to policy, but in this case, the president’s attempted claim for credit is puzzling. Trump has proposed $95 million be earmarked for apprenticeships this year. That’s $5 million more than a bipartisan Obama-era effort laid out. But there are important differences between Trump’s approach to workforce development and his predecessors. He wants the number of apprenticeships in the U.S. to grow from 500,000 to 5 million and the administration and its flacks have credited Ivanka Trump with much of the work that went into the program. Separately, the president has called for slashing federal workforce-development funds by 40 percent and cutting the Department of Labor by about one-fifth." trump promises this plan that will create jobs, never mind that he stole it, I mean jobs are jobs. But it's a plan that needs federal funding which he is going to gut. I believe that is called empty promises. Its when nothing happens from his grand plans/promises that involve jobs is when I think a lot of the non deplorables trump supporters will see the light. Because it's all about the jobs with a lot of these guys.

I wish POTUS would act like a commander in chief instead of spending his time retweeting Hannity. I'm not even being (particularly) snarky when I say-I don't think that is possible of him-it's literally not in his nature. This is what we get unless he is somehow only allowed to read prepared (by someone else) speeches. But then that wouldn't really be a commander in chief- more of a figurehead speech-reader. I believe he is ill prepared, unsuited and so far over his skis as POTUS... it's mind boggling. (at least my mind is boggled)

I read this over here. Apparently he is on record as saying Camp D is great, for 30 minutes. They have one golf hole with multiple tees.

linkSomeone found an old CNN story from 2010 where President Obama received an invitation to speak to the GOP House caucus. He gave a speech and "followed by an often pointed question - and - answer session". can you imagine trump, Ryan, or McConnell doing something like this in front of the Democrstic caucus in either House? From the article... "Republicans criticized the president for failing to fulfill a promise to televise all the health care negotiations on C-SPAN. Obama called the criticism "legitimate" but noted the overwhelming majority of committee hearings on the legislation had been conducted in front of TV cameras." Or anything like this?

The Raw Story... "'He's not in charge': US ally's defense minister says Mattis and Tillerson ignore Trump -- and make their own policy ow.ly/Ljer30cD6aP" I wasn't awear that the country elected these two to make policy. Hey, better them than Trump. It shows a lack of "taking responsibility for something" that's in the job description for president. I personally don't think it's a good idea for military personnel to make the final decision without non-military folks (like a president) involved when it comes to sending our men and women into harms way. In a general's mind there is often only one solution and that is the military one when a non military type may be able tonsee a different and just as effective solution without putting boots on the ground.

It was in our local paper since we live close to Camp David. I haven't heard or seen the 3 helicopters that mark the POTUS traveling there, but I guess I could've missed them. Unless he's traveling via another method. I hope they didn't go up there and gold plate everything. It's gorgeous in that area. Maybe there's no tv available. Ha!

"It is the greatest privilege of my life to serve as Vice President to @potus Donald Trump – a man devoted to American ideals."
Got this response from Gabe Ortiz -Daily Kos...

Random tweet...
"No Secretary of the Navy No Ambassador to Japan Terrible accident in Sea of Japan 7 sailors missing
Trump retweets Hannity & yells at TV"
We now know some if not all of the missing sailors bodies have been found on the ship. And it appears trump is having a meltdown over issues that he created.

"The MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN agenda is doing very well despite the distraction of the Witch Hunt. Many new jobs, high business enthusiasm,.."
...massive regulation cuts, 36 new legislative bills signed, great new S.C.Justice, and Infrastructure, Healthcare and Tax Cuts in works!"
Well president tiny hands what about the large loss in retail jobs, new car sales are down, & new construction is slowing? Health care that is going to kick millions off their insurance. 36 legislative bills signed? Really? All we have seen signed is a bunch of EO like some third world dictator.
An infrastructure plan that in the end will cost the American people twice to pay for it.

A new AP/NORC poll has him at 35% approval 64% disapproval. FiveThirityEight releases daily poll numbers and trump has been heading down currently fluctuating at around 38%. But the biggest change is his disapproval is in the 60% range. Before it had been in the 50's.
From the Hill..
"Nearly two-thirds of Americans disapprove of the job President Trump is doing in the White House, according to an Associated Press/NORC poll released Thursday.
Sixty-four percent of respondents in the survey said that they don't like how the president is handling his office, while just over a third, 35 percent, approve of Trump.
The poll also found that 65 percent of Americans believe Trump has little or no respect for the country's democratic institutions and traditions. Only about 34 percent said they believe he has a great deal or even a fair amount of respect for such institutions.
While that sentiment appeared most common among Democrats and independents — 9 in 10 and 6 in 10, respectively — a third of Republican voters said Trump had little or no respect for democratic institutions in America.
While the president entered the White House with relative unpopularity, the AP noted, his dwindling approval numbers and perceived disrespect for the country's institutions show mounting challenges for Trump as he seeks to cast himself as a unifying figure.
Trump also faces disapproval in some key policy areas. Sixty-six percent of Americans said they disapprove of Trump's handling of healthcare. That comes two months after House Republicans passed a measure to repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act. The Senate is hammering out its own healthcare bill.
Nearly as many Americans, 64 percent, disapprove of Trump's climate change policies. The president announced earlier this month that he would withdraw the U.S. from the 195-nation Paris climate deal and has made a concerted push to undo Obama-era environmental regulations.
The poll surveyed 1,068 Americans from June 8 to 11, and respondents were interviewed either by phone or online. The survey's margin of error is 4.1 percentage points.
