Weigh in please. There is a great difference of opinion among my friends. I really like Clara and I liked Rose. I liked Donna's story but didn't always like Donna. Amy anoid me a lot of the time, but I liked the Amy/Rory thing. Of the earlier companions, I like Jo, Lee-la, and Sarah Jane.

It's a tie between Donna and Martha if I'm just considering companions. If it's the Doctor/companion duo then I am a die hard 10 and Rose forever kinda gal.

Disliked Martha but I loved Donna. She took awhile to grow on me though.
Clara can go away any time now. That would be fine with me.

Amy and Clara, but most of the episodes I've seen were with them.

I liked Martha a great deal. Clara never clicked with me. But [HASH]10 and Rose were my favorite Dr/companion combo by far. They had some amazing chemistry.

I'm pretty stuck on Rose as the best companion. Loved her with 9, really loved her with 10. Was so excited to see her in the 50th special. She was the best.
I didn't think I'd like Donna, but LOVED her! She is my second favorite.
I liked Martha, especially in her first episode, and then how badass she was by 10's last episode. I loved Amy and Rory (but not as much as Donna).
I didn't "get" Clara, and I know they tried to explain the whole Impossible Girl thing, but I thought it was a stupid explanation and didn't make sense. It seemed like a made up way to explain it when they hired the same actress for two different guest roles, then wanted to hire her again for companion. I didn't believe her relationship with the Doctor either. It seemed forced. Rose seemed natural from the beginning, but I never bought into Clara as his best friend. I hope I like her more with Capaldi, but I'd really just like to see her move on. The actress is cute as a button, though.

Amy/Rory, Donna, Rose in that order. I do not like Clara, her storyline is a bit dull for me & Martha was okay. I liked Martha better when she was in The Carrie Diaries.

Donna. Hands down. The end of the storyline broke my heart, but she'll always be my favorite.
Rose is my next favorite, followed by Martha.
Could not stand Amy. Wanted to punch her in the throat almost every episode.

Definitely Rose! But 10 is my Doctor, so that may color my preference. I enjoyed Amy and Rory, loved that they were all best friends. Donna was amazing in her own right, one of my favorite DW scenes ever was the Adipose epi where Donna and 10 have a conversation just mouthing words silently across the room from one another. Didn't care for Martha at all and Clara was never believable to me.

Your take on Clara is interesting to me because I really like her with Matt Smith and wonder if I will like her as much with Capaldi. I don't really know that I think of her as a "best friend" but more as a curiosity to the Doctor-he can't figure her out, why she keeps turning up at different times. I liked Martha too and I really liked that they had her choose to leave when she knew the Doctor couldn't love her.

It's hard to say who my favorite is...well besides myself, still waiting for the Doctor to come and pick me up in the Tardis. I love them all for different reasons. But I do know have never liked Clara. Can't WAIT until Saturday!!! It's been TOO LONG!

I liked them all except Amy/Rory. For some reason they annoyed me to no end. I didn't start liking Matt Smith until Clara came along.

Amy/Rory were my absolute favorites. The relationship between Rose and #10 make her my second favorite.
Last week I read that there is a rumor that the Christmas episode will be the last for Clara. I wouldn't miss her. To be fair, I don't think they've written her very well at all. She just seems so one dimensional. I feel like they haven't let us get to know her.

I loved Rose, hands down she is my favorite. It broke my heart when she went into the other dimension and I still tear up when I watch that episode. I got to where I could tolerate Donna. Cannot stand Martha, she was too whiny about the Doctor not reciprocating her feelings. She had her moments, but still, she is last on my list. I enjoyed Amy and loved Rory.

Donna wasn't my favourite AT ALL, for a long time. I just didn't get her -- she seemed all wrong. But by the end of her journey as a companion I completely loved her. I think she's my favourite. I like that she was strong in her own way, and not some cutesy "I'm in love with the Doctor but not really" big-eyed girl who was perfectly flawed and destined to be great at the same time.

BBCA has been showing Doctor Who non-stop this week. I've only caught a few episodes, but I have to say I completely forgot how much I loved the episodes with Donna. She was just so funny. She was a bit of an airhead, but that's part of what made her fun. I also liked Martha a lot. I wish she had been around for more of the series. She was my favorite companion.
I also like Amy and Rory. I like the two of them together far better than Amy alone. I'm glad they decided to go with the love story between the two of them. Because the 21st century episodes of Doctor Who have made him more of a romantic Doctor, having him and Amy alone was a bit creepy considering they first met when she was a little girl.

Does Captain Jack Harkness count as an official companion? If so, definitely him.
Otherwise, I think Rose is my favorite, but Clara is really growing on me.

Donna, then Rory, then Rose (I love the love story with Rose, but that's different from companion). Wilf, if you can count him. :-) Least favorite, Martha. Ugh, did NOT like her.

Donna. Her story is heartbreaking. It's so painful to watch the early Donna episodes because I know what's coming. Silent in the Library, anyone? And when River says to Donna, "Donna? You're Donna Noble?" and you just KNOW she knows something!??!?!? ahhhhhh! And when Donna lost her "husband" in the Library's computer blimp and she and 10 are asking each other if they're alright after? Omg. Of course, Catherine Tate (who plays Donna) is just an incredible actress. She made that character fantastic.
