I will be the first to admit I am cranky in the morning, this morning was no exception . I decided to run through Starbucks drive thru on my way to work. I got to the window and was told that someone paid for my drink. How sweet was that! I have paid for people in back of me before but this is the first time I have had someone do it for me.
Made me not so cranky this morning

Did you continue to pay it forward? I saw on the news earlier this week that it continued for 11 hours at a Starbucks some where.
I'm so jealous your Starbucks have drive thrus! I don't think we have those up here.

You aren't in St. Pete are you? The store there (sadly, not mine), had 378 cars in a row pay for the other's order. Pretty sweet!!!

Someone did that for my DH, DB and SIL right before Christmas a couple of years ago. They paid for our drinks, so we did the same thing for someone else in the restaurant before we left. It felt wonderful!

This is definitely a case where I get WAY more out of it than the recipient. I love doing this kind of thing. The best was an elderly couple we overheard mention it was their anniversary. We paid their tab at the restaurant on our way out. It still makes me smile.

I love being able to do that for other people. That would be really cool to be in one of those long chains like that.

18yo DD and I took a weekend trip to Savannah and our first night there the man at the table next to us paid for our dinner. It was so random and unexpected. What a nice thing to do.

It's so funny that you posted this today. The car in front of me bought my drinks this morning as well. It felt so good. I did pay it forward as well. So much fun!

Many years ago, when my folks had picked me up from college for Cmas break, we had some car trouble on the way home. It was snowy and our car had a wiring problem. A truck passed us and a big load of wet snow from its roof landed on the hood and our car stopped dead. Some guys in an old white van stopped to help and had the right stuff to dry off the wires. My dad was so grateful as he was not a very handy guy. We continued on our way, turning onto the interstate hway. After about an hour we came across an accident. A white van had slid off the road. Yep, it was the same guys, luckily we had a shovel in our trunk to help them dig their van out. My dad and the guys had a big chuckle about how quick we were able to return the favor. Cathy

I've had it done at Christmas for me as well.
One time last December, someone in front of me paid mine for me. Nice! I decided to pay it forward. Well, I just order my single coffee. The car behind me orders 4 drinks and bakery items too! The cashier asked me if I still wanted to treat them and I said yes. I sure hope they enjoyed their free meal on me!
