mostly road, but just a bit of the car for perspective.

I have it adjusted to see a sliver of my car. It helps that it has built-in blind spot mirrors, but since I'm not used to them, I don't use them like I should.

I see just the handles of my car. I just learned that that's how they should be adjusted. I've had them wrong for 25 years. It feels so wrong, but I getting used to it.

A sliver of the car. My DH when he drives my car adjusts them so that there is no car in the view and I can't figure out why he needs to be able to see 3 to 4 lanes over from the back side of the car??? Conversely, you know your own car is there, why do you need to see it? Doing that just makes your blind spot bigger. It's much safer to be able to see everything going on around you so if you need to make an evasive maneuver, you can. I know where my car is, I don't need to see any part of it. Except that I use my mirrors to see where things are in relation to my car. If I can't see a bit of my car in the mirror, how do I know the relation of things in my mirror to my car?

Just past my car. I could lean a little and see my car, but sitting up straight, no car. That is supposed to eliminate the blind spot as much as possible.
That said, my daughter borrows my car constantly, and she's shorter than me. So I am always having to readjust the mirrors. So, they are not always perfectly set.
The car is 18 years old, so manual everything. I would be so happy if I had a car that remembered different drivers and switched all the settings with the touch of a button!

I also need a little bit of car visible for perspective. Otherwise I feel like I'm looking off into oblivion.

Another one here who likes to see a tiny bit of the car. It helps me get a better perspective.

I'm a Driving Instructor. I always teach students to have a little bit of the car showing. Then you have a reference point to tell how far away other vehicles are.
