Have you done anything different to shake up your scrapping lately. Have you used an old tool, some new product, or a tried a new technique? It's not earth-shatteringly different, but I dug into my scraps for some patterned paper instead of using all whole sheets on my last few layouts. I also watched a few Glitter Girl videos and I haven't done that in a while. I'm always inspired in some way after watching a video.

I pulled out my colourblocking templates for a few recent layouts - they are great when I have a ton of photos I want to include

Mixed media! I made a mixed media page and a canvas in the same week. It was the most fun I've had making something in a while! No clue what I was doing, but it ended up working out...nothing worse than going in with high hopes and walking away frustrated and disappointed. I approached both projects with a "let's see how this goes" approach...no expectations...and the results were great. I honestly expected to just play and not end up with anything other than a lesson in what not to do next time. http://instagram.com/p/BTVCLQ-lFRC http://instagram.com/p/BTh15vSl92O

scrapaddict702 both of your projects are gorgeous! and your little one is adorable She has grown so much since then...she was 4 or 5 months in this picture and it's been almost 2 years ...I just knew I had a lot of pictures from that day in the pool and that they'd work with the colors I chose to play with. I never thought I'd actually get to the scrapbooking part when I started, I was just trying to play around and figure out what the heck I was doing! I'm kind of obsessed. I need Joann's and Michael's to have more 60% off coupons so I can start buying all the different mediums. Next on my list is the clear heavy gel (acts like a modeling paste but dries clear for a resist look) and I've asked for some watercolors for Mother's Day. I sampled watering down almost every brand of ink and mist I own trying to find colors I liked for the canvas. I ended up using a distress ink, a dylusions mist and an Avery Elle pigment ink. I never thought mixed media was for me because it's so vintage (which is drab to me) or shabby chic (which is way too frilly) but Inkie Quill/Adele has shown me that there are modern takes on it. I just wish there were easy keyword searches to find more inspiration like her. I need to watch more from Missy Whidden and Irit, I think.

First of all, scrapaddict702, your baby is precious! I've always been a strictly chronological scrapper but in recent months I've scrapped more of what I wanted to scrap instead of the next chronological pictures. Also, I've been scrapping 12x12 and 8.5x11 lately and I've put aside the 8.5x11 pictures so I could scrap the 12x12 layouts because I enjoy that size more these days. Now that I think about it, I did get a lot more layouts done when I started doing that.

Have you done anything different to shake up your scrapping lately. I'm being more liberal with pop-dots, sequins, enamel dots, everything. I like a ton of jazz on my pages. Are they probably the new version of sticker sneeze? Yeah, probably. But I like it and who else cares? Also, I've been using Thickers. I'm working on my second pack this year, and love them so much. The dimension makes me happy. I like the way they pop.

I love these thought provoking threads and I started to answer yesterday and couldn't think of anything, and I still can't. But I like to keep them going. I think this thread made me see I am either in a rut or I am so comfortable in my style I don't venture away from it.
I'll be watching the thread for some new things I feel like doing. The one thing that has been on my mind is to actually use my nuvo drops but I despise waiting for things to dry. I'm right between offering them up on the free thread and trying them out again.

I recently got a new Cameo and I've been playing a lot with that. I've experimented with Print and Cuts and love that I can cut any embellishment I can find/create in any size I want. I have also put all my enamel dots closer to hand and am trying to remember to use them more often.

Guess my signature new technique is writing on my LO's and cards with Nuvo drops or even paint ( from the little bottles with the fine nozzles). If I don't like the colour, I sprinkle glitter on top.
Haven't done anything else new lately, but I tend to cycle through various styles and techniques. I used a few HOTP brad buddies this past weekend. And no wood veneer, even though that's been a staple lately.
And I stamped a few times. Used my WRMK stamp positioner instead of blocks. And did a little heat embossing which I haven't done in awhile.

I scrapped a 12x12 layout for the first time in forever. I usually do 9x12 or 6x8 pocket pages.
I recently watched a Glitter Girl episode - an old Two Peas days one - so I used that inspiration in adding my embellishments. The page came together pretty quick and I used up some really old product too.

I finally played around with the Fuse that I got for Christmas. I made a shaker box on a card and a bookmark. Next I want to make a pocket or a waterfall for a layout, now that I have the hang of how it works. I also have a Minc that someone gave me that I haven't tried yet. Maybe I'll play with that this week if I get a chance.

I also have been using some texture paste and gesso with my distress oxides, which I love

scrapaddict702, adorable baby. Both of your projects are gorgeous. Great mixed media. I can't say that I've done anything new. Like grammadee I tend to cycle through things. Oh, I've used my wink of stella pen on my last 2 layouts. I guess that could count. I'm going to be making banner pieces this weekend which is different for me.

I bought bright paper. It's something I have a hard time using. I figured it's almost summer. I need to challenge myself with photos I will soon take.

Even though I have always loved, and still love lots of dimensional embellishments on my layouts, I have started making flat pages. They fit into my albums better and don't bend the opposite page. I am also able to fit more pages into the albums.
