Now that the hsn craft day is over,I'm concentrating on planning my quick quotes private reserve in Florida. I have to fly out. To get there driving is not an option. How do you transport your stuff? Once you get there do you wheel your stuff in the crop room in your suitcase? I'm wondering if I can check my crop bag in as luggage.

I don't see why you can't check your crop bag. I might consider an extra strap on it, to keep it closed. Also, I'd check the weight!
I hope you have a great time.

I have never flown to or from a crop, but I like myboysnme'a advice to pack a folding tote into your suitcase to take to the crop later. I think I would package my tools in a case of some sort. That way nothing else in your suitcase gets damaged accidentally, and if there is a question about the contents of your checked suitcase, you can easily pull out one container if you need to do more than explain. Pack your glue in your carry on, because glue does not do well with freezing temps. Dyan Reavely packs colouring sheets/art journal type pages and pens/pencils in her carryon to entertain herself in the air, and then she sometimes uses what she creates when she gets to the convention.

You could pack your glue sticks in your carry-on. Unless you like to have conversations with hostile people, you may want to pack your GUN in your checked baggage. Nomenclature is another thing to consider; Hot Glue Applicator and Embossing Tool, instead of glue GUN and heat GUN. Somewhere there is probably a list of banned words to say in a security checkpoint, and I'm pretty sure GUN is somewhere near the very top.

I think it's bombs followed by Allah Akbar might get everyone's attention.

Having never participated in a crop, I have no advice. Hope you have a safe & productive trip! I think it's bombs followed by Allah Akbar might get everyone's attention. Several years ago when a friend's three children were all 5 yo & under, she would spend an hour soaking in the tub with a glass of wine & a book every night once they were asleep. Family members routinely gifted her several books & bath-related products. When traveling home from her parents after the holidays, a TSA agent inquired if their luggage contained weapons. Her oldest got a glimpse of the x-ray & excitedly announced, "Mommy, I see your bombs!" Are you going to put them in cars or buildings?" After causing them to miss their flight due to hours of interrogating/searching their entire family & luggage, agents confiscated & cautiously deposited her bath bombs in haz-mat bags. The experience taught my friend many things, including her son had been watching/playing Call of Duty or the like with his older cousins. Although she's not gotten in a bathtub since, she laughs about it now!

I know some folks that like to go hunting out of state and they ship their guns ahead of time to the hunting reserve. I wonder if the hotel would let you ship your crafting supplies and hold them for the event. I don't know what it would cost to do that - maybe it would be cheaper than paying for an extra bag with the airline?

Guess you could even protect it with a box. When we went to Florida for a vacation one November, I had merchandise shipped directly to my hotel. It was Christmas gifts from a US supplier who didn't ship to Canada. The hotel desk person I spoke to before I placed the order said that they accept packages for guests all the time.

I was blessed to fly to the She Loves Color event in Milwaukee last October. Thankfully, Southwest flies direct from Denver. Side note: Stacy Julian was on my Denver to Milwaukee flight with her mom. So anyway, I had two pieces of luggage, one with clothes and the other with crop supplies. I did wrap my portable trimmer with bubble wrap. I checked both bags and all arrived safely. We received sooooo much product, our table mate's husband went to the thrift store and bought me another rolling luggage to bring my goodies home. I am going to the Canon crop with Quick Quotes in June in New York and returning to the She Loves Color event in Milwaukee in October and will be flying Southwest again and checking bags. Every other time I fly like to visit family in Phoenix, I am a carry on bag kinda gal!
